They say laughter is the best medicine, but that's not quite true. It's just a good aid to proper care. -- Anon Guest

Let me get this into your head - laughter is not always the best medicine. Just try doing it when your next breath is being debated by committee. Metaphorically, of course. It's just as difficult to breathe when it feels like you're allergic to air.

I'll spare you the sordid details of abundant mucous generation and leave you with this: I'm almost drowning, every day. Unless I take specific and measured precautions.

Medicated mists, potions and pills. A very special diet to reduce the flow, so to speak. And constant antisocial noises to get the nastiness out before it does drown me. And someone or something to help me shake it loose as I attempt to do what I can to stay alive.

My air must be kept either as fog or as a dry as the scorched plainlands of Och'lmexa. Anything in-between clogs my airways and makes breathing even harder.

The last time I laughed? I coughed so hard that I sprained my ribs. That was a month of agony I'd rather not repeat.

You may say things like, "You have to laugh." You have the luxury of being able.

I can't afford to laugh, but I'd love to have that luxury.

All I can do is fight for every breath, and hope. Hope that you Adventurers are the kind who'd go looking for things that can help... for someone who doesn't have the wherewithal to pay.

I just want to laugh... without suffering a month of pain.
