New Comeback Composition! TFT Set16

There weren't many compositions to entertain us in Set 15. The only one I could sign off on was the Crystal Gambit composition. In this set, however, there are multiple loot compositions. I'll share one of them with you: the Ixtal composition.

You can watch the gameplay here:

We start this game a bit late, from the augment screen, because I wasn't planning on recording this game until I saw the Ixtal Expeditionist augment. This augment gives you 3 Ixtal champions and increases your strategist's health by 10. So basically, it's like saying, hey, you can play this composition now. Of course, I'll take that.

Now, here's how the Ixtal composition is played. When you place the Ixtal champions on the board, 3 tasks appear below. You choose one of them and complete it. Each task has a reward. These rewards accumulate; you can save up a lot and spend it later, or you can collect the reward after each task. It's entirely up to you. Of course, accumulating more means much bigger rewards.

The first task I got was to lose 7 rounds against other players. I managed to do 4 of them early in the game. By the way, the universe of this game is the Calculators Arena. It's new to this set, and for every player eliminated, the remaining players earn 3 gold.

As my second augment, I chose Pandora's Items augment. In this composition, some champions' items are extra important, so I need this augment.

For my second task, I chose to earn 65 XP. Once I complete this task, I'll be very close to unlocking Brock.

Alright, now I've chosen to have 15 of my units killed in player battles. Since my board is generally very weak, this task won't be too difficult, but the problem is that my health is very low, so I need to complete the task quickly and unlock Brock. I spent the entire mid-game on a losing streak.

Spirit Link is a very useful augment when your health is low. It provides a percentage-based health regeneration for your champions based on your strategist's remaining health. It's tailor-made for me.

Alright, this mission is also complete, and Brock's lock is open. You need to collect 500 Ixtal Clues to unlock Brock. I just did that. Brock is a giant golem. He has no traits other than Ixtal. But his attacks launch his opponents into the air, and you should see his ability for yourself. He knocks the entire board into the air and deals incredible damage.

Damn! This golem is so powerful. My losing streak is behind me. Now it's time for revenge and a comeback!

Brock is a fighter, and his best items are Bloodthirster, Sterak's Gage, and Edge of Night. This allows him to deal massive damage, and if his health drops, enemies stop attacking him. Additionally, gaining shields based on health is an advantage because he has a lot of health.

Ah, this stupid composition is so hard to beat. I'll have to share a video of it with you sometime.

Damn it! My opponents are so strong... look at my health. I only have 1 HP left... I have to be quick now.

Huh, I managed to eliminate my opponent who was playing the Shadow Islands composition. What's next? I have to be in the top 2.

Unfortunately, I failed. I made a big mistake here too. I didn't set the tasks correctly, I didn't give the items correctly. My damage items should definitely have been on 2-star Annie. If I could have set the tank items completely correctly, I might have won. My opponent was also very strong, he was playing the Void composition and had made Baron Nashor 2 stars.

Finishing second was a great achievement. When you're playing a composition for the first time, some things can be very difficult, and my hands aren't fast enough yet to automatically distribute the items. I'm sure I'll do much better next time. See you later!
