I made some progress today - this is after my back went out last week and I have been hobbling around in pain for days - but I had to accomplish something on this painting.

I did the Pisces and the Sun...

On the full moon lunar eclipse day...

and began reworking the horse as well...I am going to redo the daytime horse in brighter colors...

Today, I added the stars as cut outs and also Prussian Blue to the sky in a circular pattern - but am still no where near done.

But by March 27th, I will be complete...because the next New Moon is March 28 - therefore the beginning of the next painting - Aries...

I am pouring positive thoughts and blessings into the piece as I work...

And I am considering the other Mutable signs - Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius ... and how I didn't really think Pisces through - in that I wish I had made the lake have all the stages of water besides night and day of a placid lake - but it's ok - since I usually work intuitively - it is very hard for me to go back and change things in Acrylic and Collage - I see, in this case, the whole thing has to be planned out - and then in the execution there might be some serendipitous moments - but that is not how I work - so this will have to do...

Or I am learning - it was quite and ambitious project to tie myself to for the year - I will say that!

I am still not finished with the framing so the work cannot be photographed or marketed for the Mustangs yet... but that is simply asking too much because I don't have an "assistant" - except my husband will build me the frames... it might take 2 years to execute or at least 6 months - with all the mishaps I have encountered this year, so far...

are quite anxious to start marketing them on Instagram, Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/joannawhitney which has a membership tier dedicated to funding the welfare of a sanctuary horse and receiving a custom portrait of the horse, in this style...that may be too tall an order for the same year as this project...

I am not a full-time artist as I once was...
