Living with Purpose: A Young Dreamer's Path

Hello Hivers my name is Jethro Fuentes. But most people who know me they call me IKEY.

I’m 22 years old and Single. Let me formally introduce my background first.I came from a humble family, there are 11 members in our family including my father and my mother. I have 10 siblings. Way back many years ago I could tell life is tough.

We need to work hard in hacienda to help my father and mother in planting root-crops and cutting sugar cane. I’m too young to be exposed in such hard labors. If we don’t work then we’ll be starving to death. I can tell working in hacienda is not an easy job at my young age.

Right now, I am enrolled at the Cebu Technological University Daanbantayan Campus-San Remigio Extension and I'm thrive for the further possibilities of my academic and my personal growth of my studies. And also I am a honor student since elementary and I face lots of challenges in life too ang suffering the problems.

My main goal in life is to succeed. Willing to take all the sacrifices to provide a comfortable life for my family. I dont want to settle this kind of situation wherein you have to work under the scorching heat coming from the sun - just so we have something to eat. Survival may difficult for the past few years but i’m glad of those experiences i had as it keeps me motivated in doing better in life for the sake of my goals and dreams in life.

Life taught me to be firm and strong. I'm so very greatful for what I have right now. I know the situation im currently on right now is not forever like this. My family is the main fuel in my life to keep going and reminds me that i have to be successful in life.

As a shy-type person, am not really into socializing people but i’m not anti social I can definitely adapt to the environment as long as im comfortable with conversing with them. I’m not a selective person. Mu rule in life is you’re good to me then i’ll be good to you. Respect begets respect. life is short to put up the things that are not helpful to me. Live life as what you are supposed to, create a lot of memories - friends and family or to anyone who is close to you.

For the hobbies, I love to play basketball, table tennis, sepak takkraw, and volleyball. During my elementary years, I am so participative in our school like intramurals. My role in volleyball is setter.and I find lots of achievements in life and fun in teamwork and the challenges because it's something I can share with my teammates and also I learned too with my teammates. I’be been into different places because of the sports I loved since then - competition like division meet and provincial meet. Some will personally approach me and asked me If i could play with their team.

And also i have work experience besides sports. Working as a construction laborer and I work harder, physical endurance, and teamwork. The experience also shaped into me a deep respect for honest work and teamwork. I have lots of learnings while I'm working in construction in 2 years and because of that I learned that the construction is not easy and it takes time to pay my hard work.

Aside from construction I also tried my hand at online selling.This very experience acted like a gateway into entrepreneurship. I realized the challenges it provides for running a small business. I learned marketing and customer service, and I also learned to respect the changing nature of online business or online selling. It has developed my techniques because I try to sell in online even though it is a small business but I'm happy for that.

In addition, if i feel bored I’ll go ahead and grab my guitar. Play some music and singing karaoke to fill in the awkward silence in the room. I, sometimes, composes a song and accompany it with strumming and humming it makes me comfortable and feel relaxed. Lastly, I also love adventures - like camping to different places, scuba diving, hunting wild chickens, and spear-fishing. Spending time with nature feels like refreshing, soothing, and my way to detoxify negative thoughts in my mind.

As a student, I am dealing with my studies, and I would now like to embrace different opportunities in life. It would be great to learn and teach new skills while providing meaningful service to society.
Instead, by putting faith in my passion for sports, with studies and hard work wedged in between, I believe I will be prepared to reach my goals and serve my purpose on Earth. I strive hard for positive thinking and truly never give up on any of one's dreams. I'm quite excited to have you on board and I will do my best. I will meet new friends and learn from their experiences.

As I move forward on this journey, it will motivate me more to conquer every challenge, happiness, and even experience that I may encounter. Through this, I will do my very best to capture every moment that may lead to memories through the years.

As we get to the last part of my story, I would like to acknowledge @lovelykate who introduced this hive, and I've entered orientation to @jeannmazing. A big shout out to all of you guys specially to my cousin, family, and friends, without y'all, I'm not be part of this.

This will make me more creative, artistic, and passionate, and it will enhance my point of view and thinking skills. I may be a photographer and an essay writer at the same time. It'll be fun doing this as every part of my day. Goodbye for now and God bless y'all.
