LeoFinance is Expanding, Opening Up & Scaling
18 comments
LeoFinance keeps building in various aspects - re-building its UI from scratch, overhauling its curation efforts, Leo ambassadors working behind the scenes to help in other areas, initiating different initiatives and what else.
It's quite amazing to see and experience how things and changes are unfolding through these months and recently. Of course, not everything is smooth and flawless. There are bugs, glitches and application errors that can be annoying at times but these are expected since the UI is still being improved and enhanced. And I think these are kind of small prices to pay compared to what we may be able to enjoy in the coming months or years in this ecosystem.
I was listening to the AMA replay earlier today and heard that something really good is cooking! And let me share one that I believe is another game changer - LeoFinance opening up to a broader audience and making true to its vision of building the "everything app."
Hive Community Pages on Leo Frontend
This is a new update rolled out just hours ago. Right now, we can already access the different Hive communities through the Leo UI. We can view, join communities, visit them, read contents, curate etcetera via the Leo UI through the https://leofinance.io/communities
This for example is the Photography Lovers community page viewed via the Leo UI. Information about the community like the number of members, rewards, number of active posters, community descriptions and rules, post feeds (Trending, Hot, New) and others can be viewed and seen just like they are displayed on other frontends.
There might still be some bugs as this feature had just been rolled out so we are advised to report when encountering some.
The next update according to Khal is to be able to show threads created by the different communities.
Also, soon we will be able to create and publish long-form contents to different Hive communities via the Leo Finance UI. I will be there to test it for sure!
Honestly, this is one that I have been wishing for a while and it's happening. So respect to the Leo team for finally opening up and expanding.
Non-Hive community pages
Partnership with various projects from outside of Hive which Eric had been working with and have them create their own community page via Leo UI. They can build up their brand and userbase here and get rewarded too.
This will obviously increase the userbase of Leo Finance and Hive in general. And that of course will also help in growing the ads revenue which is a win-win for the ecosystem and to the LEO stakeholders.
LeoCache
This is another development which is going to scale the UI to be able to handle the traffic and number of activities (threads) it is expected to come.
Some other features that they have in their lists of things to come are resources or library of easy and quick tutorials, tool tips among other things to make the user experience especially of newcomers easier, better, smoother and more interactive and gamified.
Personal Thoughts
It looks like the goal of LeoFinance becoming the "everything app" on Hive is going to make it truly open up and expand outside of just "finance" and microblogging but also of long-form. As Khal mentioned, having it all is what they are working on.
I'm quite excited to how this space is going to grow and scale.
