Good morning hive friends,
Yesterday evening, we visited the magnificent Rumassala Sanjeevani Mountain, a place that carries deep historical, cultural, and spiritual significance. Located about three kilometers east of Galle city in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka, Rumassala is not only a breathtaking natural landmark but also a site closely connected to the legendary Ramayana trail.

Rumassala is often described as one of the most artistically formed and visually striking mountains in the region. Its unique landscape, diverse vegetation, and tranquil surroundings make it a favorite destination for nature lovers, pilgrims, and travelers seeking both beauty and meaning. What makes this mountain truly special, however, is the ancient belief that links it directly to one of the most important episodes of the Ramayana.

According to the Sri Lankan Ramayana folklore, Rumassala is believed to be a fragment of the Himalayan mountain Droṇagiri (also called Dronagiri Parvath). During the great battle of Lanka, Lakshmana, the brother of Lord Rama, was severely wounded. To save his life, the healing herb “Sanjeevani” was required. Hanuman was sent to the Himalayas to bring this lifesaving plant, but he could not identify it among the vast variety of herbs. Instead, he uprooted the entire mountain and carried it back to the battlefield. It is said that during his journey, a part of the mountain slipped from his grasp and fell in Sri Lanka, forming what we now call Rumassala.

Because of this legend, Rumassala is regarded as one of the Sanjeevani mountains in Sri Lanka and has become an important stop for those following the Ramayana tour. The area is also known for its rich biodiversity, including rare medicinal plants believed to be descendants of the original Sanjeevani herbs.

Visiting Rumassala offers more than just scenic beauty—it is a journey through mythology, history, and nature. Standing on this sacred hill, surrounded by the ocean breeze and ancient tales, one can truly feel its spiritual energy and timeless importance.
So that trip was a very beautiful trip and it enabled the children to gain knowledge for their studies. Also, a large number of foreigners participated in this. See you again, have a good day.
