Imagination vs. Daydreaming

Hello my friends on Hive,
It's been a long time since I've posted an article about thoughts and reflections! And today I'd like to talk about something a little deep but very important !
Many confuse imagination and daydreaming. In this article I'll try to explain the difference between the two, of course this is just my point of view..
If you have a habit of daydreaming, you will be able to steer it in the right direction. So, let’s begin by defining what imagination is, what daydreaming is, and the difference between them. In the second part of this explanation, I will explain how to manage daydreaming and how you can benefit from it by learning how to direct it.

Imagination is creative energy, a form of innovation. It is your ability to mentally create things in your mind, then work on them and manifest them into reality. For example, you can imagine something real, like working on a great content here on Hive. You can also imagine possible things, like traveling to Hawaii, even if you’ve never been there before. Or you can imagine the impossible, like flying on the back of a dragon, as in the movie Avatar. Imagination can therefore be based on possible realities or impossible things.
The essence of imagination is rooted in reality, even if that reality seems distant. Take, for example, someone who dreams of becoming an entrepreneur while currently being an accountant. They imagine themselves running their own accounting firm, just like the Wright brothers who imagined flying in a plane before successfully building the first aircraft.
The power of imagination is divine. It’s a capability that pushes us to act to achieve our dreams. When you imagine something, you are motivated to work to accomplish it, which distinguishes imagination from mere fantasies.
Daydreaming, on the other hand, is an illusion. It’s an escape from reality, often fueled by a wounded ego. For instance, a child who feels lonely may dream of being a superhero to escape the pain of abandonment. In adulthood, these daydreams can persist, distancing you from reality and preventing you from feeling your emotions. It’s a vicious cycle that keeps you in a state of emptiness.
Imagination, when well-directed, motivates you to act to achieve your desires, while daydreaming merely distracts you.
If you learn to use your imagination consciously, you can create the life you want. Imagination, unlike daydreaming, is a creative force that drives you to manifest your wishes into reality.
To conclude, imagination is a creative force, connected to a divine source, that drives you to work to achieve what you imagine. Daydreaming, however, is nothing but illusion and does not motivate you to take action to reach your goals.
