Don't you dare dancing...
This ain't Vengaboys disco song 😁

Oh!! Hello there, hope you're all doing great. I'm Raúl and this is my first time posting in this community, I have an event to share with you today, don't panic though, everything's under control, please join me...

When our day (my wife's and mine's) doesn't start with a cup of coffee, then it hasn't officially started.

The truth is, morning coffee, whether by habit or preference, is worth enjoying and feels good for a body just waking up after a long night of... well, well... whether it's rest or insomnia depends on electricity and its evils. (It must be true that all roads lead to Rome)

Rome = Electricity

One way or another, it always ends or begins by mentioning it and it's issues, well, issues it causes.

Anyway, my wife and I really enjoy our morning coffee, and it helps us put a little strength into our morning start, which is sometimes a bit slow due to some circumstances... Roman things that many wouldn't understand.

Once the morning coffee is served, we sit at the table after the "pegaito"

The Pegaito(or you may call it The sticky)

Ritual, in which the two cups (which are designed to be joined that way with suggestive drawings printed on them as well) are joined together as a symbolic token and reminder of our love and the bonds that unite us.

Sometimes they are joined as a toast, and other times, whoever is serving the coffee joins them before serving.

As you can see here in my hands, can you see the smoke from the cups just served?

They never stop joining together, even when we've been upset for some reason. At that morning moment (if we have time), we take advantage of it and chat a little about anything, quickly plan our day according to what each of us tasks are, and drink the delicious coffee as well.

The explosion took that away from us for a few days...

The explosion

(In words,not Pictured).

Homemade invention(solution).

I had had to resort to the human-cuban ingenuity that characterizes us, replacing things with whatever fits and fits when repairing an appliance or anything else. On that occasion, it was the electric stove. The heating element had already broken twice. The first time, it was easy to replace. My father-in-law gave me a spare heating element he had stored away, and I replaced it with that one. The second time was a bit more work because I couldn't find a heating element anywhere.

But I remembered I had a pressure cooker that no longer worked. Inside, it has a heating element that, while not the same as the one on the side, could serve as a substitute. I had already done this type of transplant a few years ago, and it did; the element worked perfectly.

Boom 1

The first explosion was there, in the kitchen, above the stove with the replacement heating element on. Those kind of heating elements have a concentrated solid surface. They take a while to heat up, but when they do, they get very hot and then take a long time to cool down. I suppose it's the ideal design for that type of pressure cooker with a timer for timed cooking. I had just boiled water on the stove, the element was very hot, so I put the coffee maker on, for my morning coffee that day, while I went to the bathroom to shave and a few minutes later it happened... boom!!!... loud sound, when I went to the kitchen I saw that the coffee maker exploded. I assumed it had been the excess heat from the stove and its adapted resistance, I think the coffee maker needs to receive gradual heat but not excessively, anyway, after cleaning everything and with a little fear, I put the coffee maker on the gas stove, on low heat and this time there was no problem.

Boom 2

The old one in action after the 2nd blast.

The second was the most dangerous for me. I was in the kitchen, turning my back to the coffee maker as I was doing other things there. It was above of the hybrid stove I came up with and when I heard the bubbling that indicated the coffee was already brewing, I turned around to turn off the stove throughout a breaker switch I have on the wall just above the stove. It(the electric stove) requires an intensity of electricity that melts even the poorest quality outlets,so a short circuit can occur and lead to a fire or some other domestic accident. Well, just as I(my arm and body) was on top of the coffee maker space... Boom!!! It exploded again. I still don't know how it didn't burn me completely, but my eyes did fill with coffee dust, which blinded me for a moment. But with my wife's help, who guided me to the bathroom, and some water in the eyes, everything was solved without further harm.
This time, we were already out of gas at home, so I put it(the coffee maker) back on, this time on the coals, with fear and great care, and again, everything went well with the process.Once more I blamed the Hybrid Stove.

Boom 3

I had decided not to put the coffee pot on the stove anymore. Ours is a small, one-cup coffee pot, but it gave us two half-cups—that's the amount of coffee we drink in the morning or at any time of day, about half a cup.

We had already gotten our gas back on a couple of days ago, so I put it there, on low heat. I was next to it again, my wife was relatively close as well, while we were talking in the kitchen, and unexpectedly... Boom!!!! It exploded for the third time. Like all the previous times, coffee had spilled all over the kitchen, even on the ceiling. I don't have any pictures of that; at that moment, you don't think about taking pictures. 😁
We escaped unharmed once again.

It was now clear, the old coffee pot couldn't handle another adventure; this had been its last bonfire.
My mother-in-law lent us a coffee maker, larger than ours and also quite old and suffering from various ailments. I don't know if it was nostalgia, but besides the fact that it was a lot of work to brew, the coffee didn't taste as good as it did with the small, explosive coffee maker. So I decided to track down a new coffee maker. A few days later, I found it and, without much hesitation, I bought it.

The New one getting the job done.Yeah!!!😁

We've already made coffee in it a couple of time and everything was perfect, the coffee... tasty, no explosions, and we continued with our morning ritual of chatting over coffee... after the pegaito.

UNTIL NEXT TIME
