I'm realizing that many of the videos I watch on Youtube, recommended by the magical algorithm, discuss the decline of the West, of this capitalist world, of this Empire of consumerism led by the USA, predicting a collapse both socially and economically, as well as in human terms.

However, upon reflection and looking back in time, it's been about fifteen years since these predictions began: On September 15, 2008, Lehman Brothers, one of the largest investment banks, declared bankruptcy, and this event was a crucial turning point in the burst of the great US real estate bubble. In fact, Lehman had amassed huge amounts of assets linked to risky mortgages. Its bankruptcy shook global markets, creating panic among investors and leading to a spiral of stock sales.

Since those days of the Wall Street crisis, many content producers on various platforms have been making predictions about our increasingly ailing Western society: some said it would all collapse in 2010, some in 2011, some in 2016, some in 2020, but in the end, this rickety bandwagon seems to keep trudging on despite everything.

In the last three years, we've experienced two catastrophic events, both terribly mishandled by a political class of puppets being manipulated by higher powers: the psycho-pandemic of Covid, during which we lived through the most dystopian period in the last 70 years, all for a virus whose origin hasn't even been confirmed (it's now clear it leaked from the lab), and then this war in Ukraine, where NATO has made every imaginable mistake. No one knows how to resolve the situation; in fact, they're all now deflecting and trying to distance themselves from this disastrous conflict.

But the question is: how long will Western society, as we know it, endure? What are your thoughts?

My answer, as I see it, is that we've been in a slow decline for decades, but it won't happen overnight as many expect. In some ways, that might even be preferable. Instead, I have a feeling the suffering will be prolonged, unless an event so monumental, so revolutionary occurs that it completely changes the paradigms of the society we live in today.

Mi sto accorgendo, che molti dei video che guardo su Youtube, e che mi vengono consigliati dal magico algoritmo, trattano la fine dell'occidente, di questo mondo capitalistico , di questo Impero del consumismo con gli USA a capo, prevedendo un crollo sia dal punto di vista sociale, ma anche economico e umano.

Però, pensandoci bene, e guardando all'indietro nel tempo, è circa una quindicina di anni che si fanno queste previsioni: Il 15 settembre 2008, Lehman Brothers, una delle più grandi banche d'investimento, dichiarò bancarotta e questo evento fu un punto di svolta cruciale nello scoppio della grande bolla dell'immobiliare USA, infatti Lehman aveva accumulato enormi quantità di asset legati a mutui immobiliari rischiosi. La sua bancarotta scosse i mercati globali, creando panico tra gli investitori e portando a una spirale di vendite di azioni.

E da quei giorni di crisi di Wall Street, che molti content-producer sulle varie piattaforme, fanno previsioni sulla nostra società occidentale sempre più malata : c'è chi diceva che scoppiava tutto nel 2010, chi nel 2011, chi nel 2016, chi nel 2020, però alla fine questo carrozzone malandato sembra sempre tirare avanti nonostante tutto.

Negli ultimi 3 anni, poi, veniamo da 2 eventi catastrofici, che sono stati gestiti malissimo da una classe politica di burattini che si fanno tirare i fili da poteri più in alto: la psico-pandemia del Covid, in cui abbiamo vissuto il periodo più distopico degli ultimi 70 anni, tutto per un virus di cui non ci è stato confermato nemmeno l'origine (ormai è chiaro che è uscito dal laboratorio), e poi questa guerra in Ucraina, dove la NATO ha fatto ogni errore possibile immaginabile, nessuno sa come risolvere la situazione, infatti stanno tutti sviando e vogliono sfilarsi da questo conflitto disastroso.

Però la domanda è: quanto durerà la società occidentale , come noi la conosciamo ? Voi che ne pensate?

La mia risposta, che mi sono dato, è che siamo in un lento declino già da decenni, ma non avverrà da un giorno all'altro come molti si aspettano, sarebbe , per certi versi, anche più bello, ma invece ho il sentore che la sofferenza sarà lenta, a meno che non succede un avvenimento talmente grande , talmente rivoluzionario da cambiare completamente i paradigmi della società in cui viviamo oggi.
