The subject of coffee comes with a lot of opinions and I'm sure the phrase, "the best thing about coffee is..." would be answered a hundred different ways if I asked a hundred different people. I get it too, we all have our individual likes and dislikes when it comes to coffee and there's a multitude of ways to drink the beverage...but when I'm asked the question this is how I answer.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓼𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓬𝓸𝓯𝓯𝓮𝓮 𝓲𝓼...

The moments shared over coffee with people I value, care about, love or enjoy being around.

I could go on and on about this grind or that roast, macchiato, cappuccino, flat white, espresso, Americano and gazillion others, talk about the beans like Arabica and Robusta...but that's all bullshit to me...no matter what coffee I drink, even instant coffee, it's made better by sharing it with someone else whose company I cherish.

I like to make an event out of drinking coffee as much as I can whether it's at home with my girl-person, friends or alone and when out at cafés also. It's not just about slurping down some caffeinated hot water and milk, it's about taking a pause, relaxing, good conversation, a productive business meeting, a moment to read and write...it's less about the coffee and more about the time spent doing something I value, enjoy and find comfort in. Yes I enjoy the actual coffee, if I did not I'd not be drinking it, and sometimes the beverage makes me feel so happy and content, but it's the coffee moment rather than the coffee itself where the value is.

I've drunk coffee in some of the most amazing places in the world, cities like Paris, Florence, Rome and London, in expensive cafés and restaurants and standing in the street. I've drunk coffee in my own home and that of others, and I've found those coffee-moments I speak of...I've drunk coffee in far away and remote wilderness areas beside a campfire as the sun rises or sets and it's not the coffee I remember but the moment itself, the person or people I was with. That's where the value is for me, and that's the best thing about coffee.
