TWINBIRD siphon coffee maker CM-D854BR (Brown)

In this review, we take a look at the TWINBIRD full automatic coffee maker, made in Japan. We unboxed and overviewed the machine in the previous episode, and now we are ready to do the inaugural brew and tasting review. The machine has two temperature settings, 83 and 90 degrees, and the manual is all in Japanese. We used a light roast Geisha bean, which is a little bit more expensive but has tasty notes of tropical, strawberry, honey and jasmine. The manual recommends measuring coffee by weight, and for three cups, 34 grams to 450 cc's of water. We tested the accuracy of the measurements on the scale, and found that it was a little bit heavy. We adjusted the amount of beans to 35 grams, and then set the machine to medium grind for the light roast. We also discussed the custom filters, which may be a concern for those who want to use more generic stuff.
Overall, the TWINBIRD Siphon Coffee Maker is a great machine for those looking for a quality cup of coffee. The machine is easy to use and has two temperature settings, as well as a safety feature to avoid making big messes. The manual is in Japanese, but it is easy to follow and provides helpful instructions. The light roast Geisha bean is a great choice for those looking for a sweeter and fruitier cup of coffee. The custom filters may be a concern, but overall the TWINBIRD Siphon Coffee Maker is a great choice for those looking for a quality cup of coffee.
