This video provides a step-by-step guide on how to run the cleaning cycle on the Breville Bambino Plus. To begin, you will need the 1 CUP dual wall filter basket, the provided cleaning disc, one cleaning tablet, and a 2L container. The Bambino Plus will detect a need for a cleaning cycle approximately every 200 extractions, indicated by the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons flashing alternately. To enter the cleaning cycle mode, press and hold the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. To then activate the cleaning cycle, press either the 1 CUP or 2 CUP button once. Allow approximately 5 minutes for the cycle to complete until the unit has returned to ready mode, with all lights illuminated solid. Once your unit has returned to ready mode, remove and rinse the portafilter basket, cleaning disc and drip tray.
The cleaning cycle is an essential maintenance step to keep your group head clean and is separate from the descaling cycle. During the cleaning cycle, the unit will purge water intermittently. If your cleaning disc has a hole, you will see water intermittently flow from the group head. If your cleaning disc does not have a hole, you will see little to no water flow from the group head. Do not stop or interrupt the cycle, as you will need to restart the process.
You have now successfully completed the cleaning cycle on your Bambino Plus. This process is simple and straightforward, and will help keep your Bambino Plus in optimal condition.
