The rate at which we are advancing digitally is really amazing, although it can be a blessing and also a curse. A blessing in the sense that it has made life a bit easier for us, but at the same time, it has created a means for evil people to commit fraud and other unthinkable vices.

But all the same, I am still grateful for the times we are in because sometimes I can't bring myself to imagine how life would have been in the past when some of these digital enhancements weren't available.

Before the digital era, we were doing all transactions in cash and face to face but now, every payment is just a click away. Tell us about that financial mistake you made digitally. Perhaps wrong transactions to the wrong people or sent airtime to the wrong person or probably bought more airtime than intended, mistakenly.

I've been a victim of all of the instances described in the prompt, and I'd like to share some of these funny experiences, now that I think of them, some of them are funny, but that wasn't the case at the time of it's happening.

I remember last year, around June to be precise, I and my siblings went home to spend some time together, so upon arrival, we took cabs at different points since we weren't all coming from the same location.

When my sister was almost close to home, she called me that she was having difficulty transferring the fare to the driver, and she didn't also have cash and asked if I could make the transfer, I accepted, as I had just done mine, and it went smoothly.

At the point when my sister's call came in, I had just gotten home and was catching up with my brother who was there already, so when I started making the transfer, I didn't really concentrate on what I was doing, because I was still laughing and talking, before I knew it, I had sent ₦31,000 to the driver instead of ₦3,100.

By this time, I took a look at what I had done and frantically began calling my sister to explain to the driver what had happened, and if he had received the money.

Luckily or fortunately for me, the driver accepted that he had seen the ₦31,000. At this point, so many things were running through my mind and I was relieved to find out that he had seen it. Out the had this time then asked that the account details be sent to him, so he would return the excess money.

Immediately after some seconds, I received an alert confirming that he had transferred back the money to me.

Another occasion that occurred was on this particular day, I had intentions of buying airtime to make some calls, but I was talking to my colleague, and boom before I knew it, I had recharged ₦5000 instead of ₦500, at this point, I began laughing at myself, because what sort of mistake was this.

My saving grace that day was that I also needed to get internet data, so I immediately used it for that purpose instead. I was glad that a solution came out, even when it looked like a very bad situation.
