The thought that the holidays are over still bothers me because I wasn't prepared for it. I also discovered next week Monday is on the 6th of January, when I am meant to return to work. Deep down, I don't want to resume so early because I enjoyed my holiday so much, and today I will be sharing with you the best part of the experience I had during this holiday period.

Since the beginning of last year, I haven't laid eyes on my siblings because we all live in different states. I miss them because of the bond we had while growing up, and it felt like I wasn't going to see them again until the holiday came. We all met at my parent's house, went to church together, took pictures, and had a meal together.

The holiday brought us back together. This is one of my best experiences, seeing my siblings in good health, gossiping together, and making plans on how to make 2025 a better year.

Another best experience of the holiday was the food. You know how you eat the same food all through the year, but it tastes different during the holidays. That's what I felt when I had my mom pounded yam and egusi soup.

You see, there is a special taste holiday meals usually have, and I have been trying to discover the secret. I mean, I have been eating this same food all year, but why is it tasting so good and delicious than when I have been having it? I always look forward to holiday meals because they are always better than all the food I have had during the year. Eating my mom's delicacy was one of the best experiences I had.

Next is having to meet up with the Fash family. Remember holidays are for family and friends, so how will my holiday be complete when I haven't met up with my cousins, whom we bear the same surname and come from the same grandparents?

Everyone in the picture is from the Fash family, and this is not everyone. I enjoy seeing my cousins; it's been years since I saw most of them because we all live in different states, but this year we promise to meet up at my grandma's house so we can bond like we used to when my grandma was alive. Most of our holidays are spent in her two-story building, but since she passed on, the house has been used for rent to keep it active.

I felt alive going back to that house, sleeping and waking up. It brought this nostalgic feeling of when I was a child. I could remember running around on the stairs while my grandmother kept nagging about it because she didn't want me to get hurt.

Let's come to a close. The 2024 holiday was one of the best because I got to experience all this, I got to reflect on many things, and I got to enjoy some of my childhood memories again.

Thanks for reading.
