"Is Marriage Really That Great?" — Between Dreams and Reality
1 comment

Have you ever asked yourself, "Is marriage really worth it?"
I used to think I had an idea — until I experienced it myself.
In this post, I’m sharing a deeply personal reflection on the real face of marriage: the beauty, the struggles, and the moments in between.
Whether you're married or not, I’d love to hear your thoughts. How do you view this journey?
We often hear the question, "Is marriage really that great?"
But the answer isn't always black and white.
Marriage isn’t just about a beautiful wedding dress, a big celebration, or picture-perfect moments on social media. It’s a whole life — full of ups and downs, laughter and tears, understanding and conflict, comfort and struggle.
I’m not writing this as an outsider looking in. I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it.
Marriage isn’t the finish line — it’s the starting point of a new journey. A journey with a partner who shares everything with you… from your smallest habits to your biggest dreams, even those vulnerable moments you hide from the rest of the world — and yes, that includes the extended family too.
In the beginning, everything feels fresh. Sometimes it’s sweet, sometimes it’s challenging. You’re trying to figure each other out. There will be moments when you ask yourself,
"Why did I get married?"
But then comes a single moment that makes you think,
"I’m so grateful they’re here with me."
Marriage takes effort. It takes patience, communication, and a willingness to grow together. It means remembering that you’re not living with a perfect person, or a copy of yourself, but another human being — who thinks differently, makes mistakes, gets tired, just like you.
Now that I’ve become a mom, I understand even more how much this partnership demands. Emotional support between spouses makes life feel lighter — even when it’s hard.
In the midst of exhaustion, there’s comfort. There’s warmth. There’s someone who sees through you without needing words.
So, is marriage great? Yes — but only if you step into it with awareness, intention, and a heart that knows how to love, forgive, endure, and grow.
Let me ask you:
What’s the biggest lesson marriage has taught you?
And if you're not married yet, how do you feel about it?
