The unexpected expenses

My junior brother who happens to be the last born in my family was complaining of toothache and this pain however have been disturbing him for weeks, until of recent when the pain became unbearable. He has been managing that pain since it began thinking it is a minor pain that will come and go, not knowing the tooth in particular have been infected.
His right cheek got swollen which even made him restless. He can't eat neither can he sleep because the pain was very severe to bear. When I looked at the affected tooth, there was a big hole there that have already damaged the tooth and the only option when looking at it was to remove it which made us to go and visit the dentist for final conclusion.
I can relate to the kind of pain my brother was going through because four years back, I removed my tooth which was similar to his, so I understand how he was feeling going through that pain. When I removed mine as of that time, the money spent in removing my tooth back then was fifteen thousand naira which is around $10, so my mindset was if there was any increment, it wouldn't be more than thirty thousand naira and that is around $20.
When we got to the hospital, the dentist check the affected tooth and told us that the tooth needs to be removed but can be replaced with an artificial one if we are interested in doing so but would cost us more money. However, the whole expense in the removing the tooth would cost us seventy thousand naira which is around $50.
At first, I don't know what to say because what I budget wasn't even up to that amount. I was surprised that the amount would get to that, knowing fully well that I have removed mine before and the money spent was less compared to what the doctor told us to bring. We pleaded if the money can be reduced but the dentist said no that it is the amount required in removing it.
The only option he gave was that he would not wash and clean the teeth that the only step he would take is to remove the teeth and that would cost us fifty thousand naira. Despite that the amount was still high but since my brother was in pain I had to look for the money to remove the teeth In other to allow the pain relieve him.
I called a friend and he assisted me by borrowing me the money to pay back which I thanked him and appreciate as well. My brother finally removed the affected tooth and in three days he was fine again.
Unplanned expenses usually come during times that you don't expect to spend things that you didn't budget for which is why it is important to have anonymous budget as well for situation like this. It can be challenging when you plan for something important then another situation comes to distract your plans then place you on another situation that needs a fresh planning and solution.
This is part of life to experience where unexpected expenses can come from anywhere but what is advisable to do is to be in a situation where we can be able to solve such expenses even if it is not all but our contribution should matter in upgrading our financial lifestyle.
