Get The Line Up That Your Opponent Dislike

Howdy all, especially my fellow Splinterlands Summoners
Another week, another new Splinterlands post. I have been writing splinterlands posts for 3 years because I like this game a lot. For today post, I will come with a funny title. Getting The Line Up that Our opponent dislike.
This sounds silly, how could we know what our opponent like or dislike? The easiest way is by reading the rulesets and their last battles. Before you get into the battle, you can see their last history.
For example this guy, he loves to use dragons. 4 of his last 6 battles, he came with Dragon Element, so it is pretty solid to say his main line up will be going with Dragons.
He has preference to play with sneak attacks and he cares about guarding his backline. Another point to notice is that his soulbound cards are not so great, but not very bad either. Maybe he is dominated with soulbound cards only.
By reading history like that, we could know how our opponent operates, and we could set up a line up that is mostlikey not compatible with their preference, let say countering them. But counter meta is very specific, so I prefer to say what my opponent dislike.
I will set another target here and let see how my battle will be...
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
I pick this battle, against my WOO-game friend, @blitzzzz. This is not his main, his alts. I notice he likes playing with a lineup dominated by strong soulbound cards.
With these ruleset, before the battle started, I already guessed that he would come with dragons. He would come with a bunch of big health point units, and the problem would be those units are very fast and of course they are superb evasive.
I have expected he wil come with Commander Slade, because Slade has a big health points. It is hard to hit this guy, unless you go with magics and some true aim ability. Slade will keep weaken your main tank, so I should not rely too much on my main tank.
I predicted that he would come with night reaper. This is not a great unit but it is super annoying, especially if you come with units having fly ability. The best thing is to avoid bringing any flying units in your line up.
These two units, both, are hard to hit. They are very evasive and my prediction comes true. He comes with both, plus a big guy Kulu Mastermind. Kulu Mastermind is the only units that I haven't anticipated.
My lineup is set to be something he does not like. So What are the thing he doesn't like? based on my prediction:
- I have Captain Katie and Djinn Renova. These two girls hit very hard with magic attack, they could knock out any big units within two round.
- I do not bring any flying units.
- I bring Henchling Enforcer in my team. He is a good unit but hard to use, because of many things. In this condition, I think he is a good choice. He has true strike ability, so he could not miss and I think his halving ability could bring me a lead later.
Although this sound lame, but his low health and an armor could be a good thing in this battle, because it will draw Kulu Mastermind attention out from my magic duo.
Let see how this will go
- The battle starts with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent. They have better leveled units, but my line up is more well balanced and we come with units that could counter their units.
- They come with 8 melee damage, 9 range damage and 7 magic damage. Combined all they become 24 damage per round.
- My team comes with 8 melee damage, 6 range damage and 7 magic damage, combined all it becomes 21 damage per round.
- Previously I thought my fire power was great, but I was surprised my opponent ditched any defense and going all out here.
- They won the first round, killing my Uriel The Purifier and managed to prevent any causality on their side. This made Round two started with 5 vs 6 condition.
- My team manages to kill their Syrenth in this round. Finally their backline tank is killed, now my team starts to make a comeback!
- Round 3 started with 5 vs 4, with one unit advantage for their side. Although we killed their Syrenth in previous round, we lost Corsair Bosun too.
- At this point, it looked like my team was in bad shape. This was all from their Shock Tropper, his 4 magic damage was effectively killing all my tank, one for each round.
- However it's round 3 now, it's about time his electrified backfired to their own side..
- The combination of poison damage and electrified instantly killed two of their own units. It was turned up side down now, from 5 vs 4 to 3 vs 4 and my team got the advantage here.
- Round 4 starts with the poison killing their last unit, Kulu Mastermind. Good Game.
This battle should be dominated by their side due to the level gap, however my team came out as the victor. I could not say that my team was better, maybe we were but one thing for sure, my units were not suitable for their meta.
It was not like that I came with some meta that was better, our my meta countered their meta, but it was more like my units were the kind they disliked and they could not win due to it. They could not kill my main damage dealer, they ran out of gass before they could reach my Captain Katie.
