To make Hive’s block production and governance more transparent, CuteHIVE Monitor has introduced a new feature: Witnesses Schedule.

This module provides a clear, real-time view of the block production sequence, witness rotations, and upcoming schedules, presenting on-chain data in an organized interface.

💡 Why We Developed This

There are already several reliable witness tools in the community. CuteHIVE Monitor aims to complement these existing options by focusing on:

  • Clean UI: A straightforward design for daily monitoring.
  • Smooth Transitions: Improved visual updates when the schedule shuffles.
  • Practical Predictions: A reliable forecast for the Backup Witness (Timeshare) slots.

⏱️ Block Production Visualization

Hive produces a block every 3 seconds, with 21 blocks per round.

The Witnesses Schedule tracks this process in real time:

  • Current: The witness actively producing a block.
  • Completed: Witnesses who have already fulfilled their turn in the current round.
  • Upcoming: The queue for the remaining slots.

Simple color indicators and status updates help users follow the consensus layer’s activity without needing deep technical knowledge.

🏛️ Top 20 and the Timeshare Slot

Each round consists of 21 slots, reflecting Hive's governance structure:

  1. Top 20 Witnesses: The 20 highest-voted witnesses who participate in every round.
  2. The 21st Slot: A shared position that rotates among backup witnesses.

The tool displays this structure clearly, showing how Hive balances network stability with decentralized participation.

🔮 Timeshare Queue: Scheduling Forecast

For witnesses outside the Top 20, knowing their expected block production time can be helpful. The Timeshare Queue view offers:

  • Forward-Looking View: Insights into which backup witnesses are likely to receive the 21st slot in future rounds.
  • Logic-Based Estimates: Predictions based on Hive's scheduling rules.

This provides supporters and backup witnesses with a clearer expectation of upcoming activity.

⏸️ Pause and Review

If the block production moves too quickly for detailed observation, you can Pause the view to check specific details. When you hit Resume, the interface instantly syncs back to the current head block.

🌐 Understanding the Consensus Layer

Witnesses Schedule is designed to be a window into Hive’s consensus layer. It takes the existing on-chain data and presents it in a way that is easier to observe and analyze.

💡 开发初衷

社区中已经有许多成熟的 Witnesses Schedule 工具。我们开发这个模块，是希望在现有工具的基础上，提供一些不同的侧重点：

  • 直观的界面：侧重于信息的清晰排版与日常查看的便捷性。
  • 平滑的切换：优化了轮次洗牌时的视觉过渡效果。
  • 实用的预测：提供更符合逻辑的备份见证人（Backup Witness）排队预测。

⏱️ 出块调度可视化

Hive 网络每 3 秒产出一个区块，每 21 个区块为一个轮次。

Witnesses Schedule 实时呈现这一过程，包括：

  • 当前出块：正在工作的见证人节点。
  • 已完成：本轮次内已成功出块的席位。
  • 待出块：本轮次内后续的排队序列。

通过简单的颜色标注和状态显示，用户可以轻松跟进当前的调度进度。

🏛️ 前 20 名与第 21 个轮值席位

每一轮出块由 21 个席位组成，体现了 Hive 的治理结构：

  1. Top 20 见证人：得票最高的 20 位见证人，固定参与每一轮出块。
  2. 第 21 个席位：由排名 20 名以后的备份见证人按规则轮流获得。

该工具直观展示了这一结构，帮助用户理解 Hive 如何在稳定性和去中心化之间寻找平衡。

🔮 分时队列：轮值预测视图

对于备份见证人及其支持者来说，了解大致的出块时间非常实用。Timeshare Queue（分时队列） 视图提供：

  • 前瞻性参考：展示未来若干轮次中可能获得第 21 席位的备份见证人。
  • 基于规则的预测：根据链上调度逻辑进行推算。

这为关注备份见证人的用户提供了更明确的预期。

⏸️ 暂停与同步

您可以随时暂停实时观察界面，以便查看特定区块或见证人的细节。点击恢复后，界面会立即同步至当前最新的区块高度。
