Standard vs Anderlecht
I had some good hope for Standard to improve and possibly deliver an old-school Standard home performance last week against AA Gent but they didn't and eded up losig 0-4 which was an exagerrated score on the end of AA Gent as it mainly came because of the Standard weakness. It can be seen that Teuma is a real enforcement but also how the players around him are just way lower quality. The fans stormed the locker rooms afterwards and things are heated at the moment. Anderlecht last week didn't get further than a 0-0 draw against Dender last week on a rather weak performance again showing that they lack quality to really be a contender. Coach Hasi previously was under fire after some bad performances and to possibly save his job, he went 'all or nothing' playing more offensively with 2 strikers which worked out. They got in a better run and he kind of went back to the safer approach which got him in the same position under fire again. Today if he loses will likely be his last match. They are now 4 game without a win and dead last in the xg against during that period at 2.29 average against. They still created 1.62 while Standard is dead last in the xg created at 0.81 in the last 4 and just 0.95 over the season. Some of the injured defenders are back for Anderlecht and they generally have done good in that regard over the season. I do see Anderlecht as the team with more quality still and they have a clear goal today to win. I would not be surprised to see an pumped up Anderlecht at the start and Standard more opting to break out on the counters. One of the conserns for this match for sure are the fans as both teams are in crisis and it would not be the first time that the match doesn't see an ending which makes it tricky to take risks betting. I took 0.13 units on
Standard Team Total under 1 @ 1.990. I'm also leaning toward Anderlecht but I either need slight better odds one the +0 line or a confirmation in-game.
Dender vs Genk
Genk managed to win the Europe but remain with the problem that they are super vulnerable defensively, even if they put the focus on it which comes at the cost of their offense. Still they remain a team who should be capable to compete for the top spots. Dender has improved a lot lately with a 0-0 draw against Anderlecht and an 1-0 win at home against Antwerp the week before. I don't see it that unlikely for Dender to play a good 1st half here but only was willing to take 0.12 units on
Dender 1st Half +0.25 @ 1.806. Genk has no other option than to win today so they should go forward giving away some space to the opponent. They played more cautious in previous away matches and only were able to create 0.48-0.69-0.64-0.76-0.86xg in their last 5 away games which is likely the reason why to over line is not that high. I always like the Genk Win & Both To Score lines and took 0.08 units on
Genk Win & BTS @ 4.067. I do keep an eye open for the in-game over bet as Genk can't speculate on the Draw in this one and needs to win which if they take the lead will leave a lot of space eventually.
Union vs Club Brugge
Union is leading the standings and have yet to lose at home. In all of these matches they got a high handicap which they first covered (often rather flattering), but recently it has gotten closer. I rate them not nearly as good as last season kind of riding some fortune this season that they haven't dropped more points combined with the opponents not best which puts them in the lead. They did play an European match with their A-Squad in the mid-week against a Atalanta B-Squad which they won. They are 2 points above Brugge in the standings and if they could likely would sign for a draw to keep their lead while at the same time pushing it to 5 also will be tempting. Club Brugge in the last weeks actually improved. They dominated Zulte-Waregem in the 1st half with 90% possession but somehow got 1-2 behind in the end still winning the match. In Europe they put up a great performance against Marseille still qualifying for the next round. Overall right now, I see Club Brugge at the team with more quality and the better form. My main fear is that there would be a case of decompression today after the Marseille win. They are near complete with only Ordonez suspended while Union is without Van De Perre. I see it as close to a 50-50 match. Brugge as the team with a bit more quality and momentum but potentially a decompression while Union has the home advantage. A draw would not be a bad result for both and I took 0.4 units on
Club Brugge +0.25 @ 1.981 being willing to back them as the underdog. I don't expect a wide-open match as Union is always solid on the defensive end while Club will be cautious not to give away chances on the counters. I also took 0.16 units on
Club Brugge 1st Half +0.5 Corners @ 2.024 as for me it could really go either way.
OH Leuven vs Kv Mechelen
OHL remains a team that almost systematically dissapoints and they failed to win in their last 4 matches, always in low-scoring matches. Their coach aimed to play more form the action instead of the reaction but it looks like they just aren't good enough for that. They rarely get above 1xg created in their matches while in their last 4 always got between 1.38 & 1.96xg against. Mechelen has been in a streak of 4 games without a win and are seeing a playoff1 place slipping away (again). They took a deserved late 1-1 draw against Westerlo in a match where they created 2.58xg. They started out very defensively and got scored against on a rare occasion when they went forward losing with a 1-0 score away against Union lackig belief in the 2nd half. After taking the lead against Dender, they crawled back way too much (as usual) and took the deserved 1-1 which was the final score. Overall, they haven't been good but also not as bad as the results show. They also have been better away compared to on the road and are the 2nd best 1st half team in the league. I do expect a match where both teams will actually look for the win as it makes no sense for either of them to speculate on the draw. Both at the same time have more underish stats and struggle to really score though. Both have been over corner teams expecially KV Mechelen and I took a small initial 0.14 unit bet on
Over 10 Corners @ 1.950 with an eye to possibly increase on this in-game. I also took a cautious 0.16 unit bet on
KV Mechelen +0.25 @ 2.001 & 0.04 units on
