Ice Cream Creations ~ A New Tasty Frozen Treat Hive Community

Hello friends and Hivians I bring to you a new community for those who love cold creamy desserts. I have had this idea for quite sometime. Let me give you a back ground of my ice cream experiences and tell you a bit about my vision for this community.

First off, ice cream is my absolute favorite dessert. I can't tell you how many flavors, types, and different ways I have had it. From cones, dishes, shakes and having it accompanied with other deserts, it's something I always look forward to.

Like many ice cream lovers it all started in my childhood. My mother loved to make homemade ice cream by hand. She had an older ice cream maker which contained a metal bucket, plastic pail and a hand mixer. You ever have the childhood taste of something good and you still remember those tastes? I did and it was in the form of the ice cream she made. I have had so many brain freezes over the years but I haven't quit on ice cream 😋

Growing up I requested ice cream for all my birthday celebrations. The early days it was ice cream served with my birthday cake. As I got older most were celebrated with an all out ice cream cake or loaf. Not sure when ice cream cakes became a thing but I'm grateful for it.

So many memories of eating ice cream cones on hot summer days. Such a wonderful treat that can be carried outside to consume. Like a tootsie roll sucker how many licks does it take to get to the cone? For me I was too quick to count, who wants melted ice cream wasted, hehe.

Ice cream is sold in many different avenues. The obvious is at the supermarkets or at ice cream shops. Also by street vendors on busy streets. One I didn't get to experience was the ice cream truck when I was younger. You know that truck that played music from a mounted outside speaker or a ringing bell equipped on its roof. So many choices on that freezer on wheels. I grew up in the country not in the city so I missed out on that but my son did not. I tell you I seen that smile from him when he heard that music or bell. It wasn't often he had to beg because I usually got something as well, haha.

I'm all in on ice cream and I don't just buy the yummy treat when I'm out. Like my mother I have made my own homemade ice cream. I have a few machines that I put to use. The picture above is some of them. I have an electric ice cream maker, a soft serve machine, and quite a few blenders. Also there is no shortage of dishes and bowls that I use to serve it on. Of course several spoons and scoops as well.

I have also dreamed of owning my own ice cream shop. Maybe not fulfilling that dream has added years to my life, haha. Who knows maybe it's a future summer job for me when I retire.

What do I want to bring to Hive with this community? It's pretty simple,a community to share your countries cold variations or versions of ice cream. As long as it's cold and similar to ice cream it's welcomed. Let's see the worlds variations of frozen desserts such as gelato, frozen yogurt, sherbet, sorbet, kulfi,snow cream,rolled ice cream and so many more.

I plan on rolling out posts directly from the community. Some will be ice cream creations and recipes. I will share enough information so you can try out for yourself if you choose. I will from time to time give you writing prompts to give you something else to write about. Lastly I will attempt to run competitions or contests to bring a little ice cream fun ☺️ The current plan is to give you a once a week post on Saturdays.

I am super excited to get this rolled out. I have seen a number of ice cream posts on Hive. It will be a pleasure to see more of them with this community. I haven't posted a full article on this subject because this idea has been floating around in my head for quite some time. Ice cream is never out of season for me so look for plenty of it, scoops away!!I have written the first article for the community and will publish it right after this one.
