Marking the Unfolding of Milestone 21

The Hive Empowers Communities project since its onset has brought transformation for several underprivileged communities in Ghana. Through the project Hive has offered hope to neglected communities making clean drinking water a reality and igniting change where it was needed most. We began with just a borehole and today we have 21 boreholes constructed all with the support of Hive.
Tomorrow we will celebrate a significant milestone, the 21st borehole under the Hive Empowers Communities project. This would add up to the efforts in providing free, potable water to communities. To us it is more than just the construction of water infrastructure but changing lives.
Each borehole project always undergoes 3 work phases to completed. It begins with the drilling process, where we dig the ground, in search of a sustainable source of water. Once water is found, the next phase is the mechanization process, where we install the pump in place, and make sure the system works.
Then, the structural development phase comes into play, where the borehole takes shape. Phase 2 is where we do series of excavation, build wall for the taps and a tower to hold the water tank and we finally top off with tiling to give the structure a new outlook.
The last phase is always the most exciting and it's about the unveiling of the new project. This is not only a moment of celebration for the people, but it's a good opportunity to share the story of impact. We get to tell the story through media coverage and publications on several media networks. It's a phase where we show how Hive is changing lives through impactful participation in Ghana, and around the world.
There is so much excitement about the launch in Asomanya community, the residents look forward to the use of the new water facility. The event is scheduled this Sunday, at 11:00 AM, where different local media outlets will be present to share the impact with the world.
This borehole is so much more than just a water source. It’s a life changing project. The ripple effect from the impact will be felt for generations to come all continue to have access to safe and clean water. This is true power of community and technology at work and we are proud to have championed this cause.
