A phrase that I use a lot in my day to day is "Whenever you want, you can" because I think that when you have the will, everything can be achieved. And once again life confirmed it to me.

Last Wednesday, the Vox Lucis Choir made a trip that lasted from early morning until 4 pm. We arrived in the city of Santa Clara to participate in a choral music festival. However, we did not have time to rest, because that same day at 8 pm we had to present a concert.

We only had time to stay at the scholarship of the University of Medical Sciences that allowed us to be at their institution during this season. Already at 7 pm we got the transportation to get to the Caturla Room, where our presentation would be. The remaining time was just enough to stretch, put on our costumes and go on stage.

Thank God, we had an excellent concert despite the state of exhaustion we were in. The audience encouraged us with each of their ovations, which gave us the necessary energy to perform our repertoire.

Something that had us very tense was that the best choir directors in the country were present. For us, who are not professional singers and have not even studied music academically, this was quite a challenge. We were lucky that when it was all over, we also received the recognition of all these teachers.

In addition, we were able to share with the cantors of the University of Havana, with whom we have already shared in other spaces.

Una frase que uso mucho en mi día a día es "Siempre que se quiere, se puede" pues pienso que cuando se tiene la voluntad, todo puede lograrse. Y una vez más la vida me lo confirmó.

El pasado miércoles, el Coro Vox Lucis hizo un viaje que duró desde la madrugada hasta las 4 de la tarde. Llegamos a la ciudad de Santa Clara para poder participar en un festival de música coral. Sin embargo, no tuvimos tiempo para descansar, pues ese mismo día a las 8 de la noche teníamos que presentar un concierto.

Solo tuvimos tiempo para alojarnos en la beca de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas que nos permitió estar en su institución durante esta temporada. Ya a las 7 de la noche nos llegó la transportación para llegar a la Sala Caturla, donde sería nuestra presentación. El tiempo restante fue justo para hacer estiramientos, ponernos nuestro vestuario y salir a escena.

Gracias a Dios, tuvimos un concierto excelente a pesar del estado de agotamiento en el que nos encontrábamos. El público nos ánimo con cada una de sus ovaciones, lo que nos dió la energía necesaria para interpretar nuestro repertorio.

Algo que nos tenía muy tensos es que los mejores directores de coros del país estaban presentes. Para nosotros, que no somos cantores profesionales y ni siquiera hemos estudiado música académicamente, esto fue todo un reto. Tuvimos la suerte de que cuando todo acabó, también recibimos el reconocimiento de todos estos maestros.

Además, pudimos compartir con los cantores de la Universidad de La Habana, con quienes ya hemos compartido en otros espacios.
