A Tale of Tree Tuesday

I will never ever, EVER get sick of thinking that nature really is Sooo truly amazing and when you consider what so many take for granted- and that is trees in general, but fruit trees in particular.
These trees feed the owners of the new house sit that I have just arrived at in the Atherton Tables lands in Far North QLD.
Banana Tree
It blows my mind — genuinely — that we walk past trees every day without stopping to appreciate just how jaw-dropping they really are. And fruit trees? Don’t even get me started! They're like the overachievers of the plant world, quietly pulling off miracles while barely getting a second glance.
Chestnut Tree
I mean, think about it:
A tree — a literal chunk of bark and branches — somehow knows how to grow food. Not just any food, but beautiful, colourful, juicy, edible gifts. Apples, mangoes, peaches, bananas, mulberries, figs, lemons... All of them just growing there, hanging casually like it's no big deal.
Avocado TRee
But it is a big deal.
What starts as a tiny flower bud opens into something sweet and delicate, often only for a few days — and then, through this invisible magic of pollination and patience, those fragile petals fall away, and fruit starts to form. Over time, that blossom becomes something nourishing. Something life-giving. Something that feeds birds, insects, humans, and entire ecosystems. All without fanfare.
Mango tree
And what really gets me is how different they all are. Every fruit tree has its own shape, its own leaves, bark textures, blossoms, scents — like nature’s own art gallery with edible sculptures. Some give us shade. Some give us flowers. Some give us perfume, timber, or even medicine. And yet we just… walk past them, half the time not even noticing.
A new Mango Shoot growing
Well not today.
Today is for stopping, noticing, photographing, sharing, and appreciating.
Because trees — and fruit trees especially — are legends of the natural world.
Thank you so much for reading my post, I really hope that you enjoyed it and look forward to your comments and thoughts.

ChocolateScorpi is so incredibly grateful to the traditional custodians of this beautiful land that I call home and I thank you for caring for it for so long.
I pay my respects to elders, past, present and emerging and offer our hand to all first nations hands in order to help heal all of our relationships to the earth on this truly magical and extraordinary island nation that we now all call home.
