Happy evening, friends of @Family-Friends. My son-in-law had his birthday yesterday, and according to my daughter, he doesn't like to celebrate his birthday, but I didn't really believe that, so I told my daughter I was going to make him a delicious chocolate cake that I was almost certain he would love. So I bought all the ingredients because he had mentioned to me that he would like to try that cake with manjar (arequipe, as it is called in Venezuela) because one day I brought a small cake that I made for a cousin for his birthday, and since there were two, his wife gave me the small one. He tried it and said, "I can imagine it with manjar."
To start his birthday, at midnight I put a sign with some balloons on the kitchen door that said "Happy Birthday, blessings" so that when he got up, it would be the first thing he saw.

I bought some candles for the cake and some happy birthday decorations, her mum brought some calzones rotos (a typical Chilean sweet) and my daughter got excited and bought things to share (chips, peanuts, Doritos, Pirulin, sweet biscuits, cream cheese and savoury biscuits) and a Pepsi.

My daughter decorated with balloons, a decorative curtain, and the happy birthday banner I bought.

When my son-in-law arrived home from work and opened the door, my grandson, my husband @manros11, my daughter and I shouted 'surprise!' and he was thrilled. He was already excited because his colleagues had made him breakfast and sung 'Happy Birthday' to him at work, something they had never done at his previous job where he worked for 11 years. He has been at his new job for four months and they gave him this surprise.
The guests were his mother and aunt, who brought him gifts, and his brother, who didn't come but also sent him a gift.

We spent some time together and then had tea, which is customary here at dinner time. After tea and chatting for a while, her mother said, "I want you to sing Happy Birthday because I want to eat cake, which looks delicious."
After singing the Chilean Happy Birthday song, which is very short and nothing like the Venezuelan one, my husband and I sang a Christian song that we always sing when someone in the family has a birthday.

Then I told him to cut his own cake and make a wish, and he got so excited that he cut it himself.
It was really nice for me to see him enjoying his birthday and especially seeing him enjoy his cake. Even though I'm not very good at decorating cakes because I always leave that job to my other son-in-law or my daughter, neither of whom were here, so I decorated it as best I could, and I think it turned out pretty, but the most important thing is that it was very tasty. For someone who doesn't eat much sweet stuff, the next day when he opened the door after coming home from work and said to his wife, "I want cake and tea," it was really a compliment to me.

So, friends, don't miss the opportunity to surprise a loved one on their birthday or any special occasion to make their day different and full of beautiful memories.

BIENVENIDOS
