A cup of coffee in the small Gallery

Experiences that include stimulating all our senses are very meaningful, so I want to share with you my experience of drinking a good cup of coffee where I not only activated my sense of taste and smell. It was a wonderful experience for my eyes and ears as well. Join me to see what it is all about.

Today is a day of walking through the city. There are always new things to see and different activities. It is a county that cares a lot about providing spaces and recreational activities for the enjoyment of the community.
One of my favorite places is the "Centro Cultural", it is a place where there are music classes, yoga, painting and there are sports courts to practice sports disciplines such as soccer, climbing, and swimming.
While you are waiting for one of these classes, you can hang out in small stores that offer food and also coffee. They are open space places so you can see people moving to their different activities inside the Cultural Center.

Whenever I want to have a coffee, I always try to choose a place that offers me a different experience. Today's place meets my expectations. These original design chairs next to a small table with a beautiful lamp indicated that I would have a delicious cup of coffee where the ambiance would become an important protagonist.

Today, I drank a creamy cappuccino. As my mouth and nose enjoyed this delicious drink, in the distance, I spotted a glass door with a small sign that said "push", an unspoken invitation.

I remembered that this door is the entrance to a small gallery. This is a space that is used to exhibit the work of the students of the painting and plastic arts classes. This is a community room, which means that it is a space for everyone to enjoy and admire the work of several incipient local artists. The objective of this small gallery is to promote their works. If there is one that interests you, you can contact the artist and purchase it. There are local newspapers that review the works since the artists sign an agreement to promote their works by any means as long as they are mentioned as owners of the piece. So I invite you to see some of the works, which will always have the recognition of authorship under each photograph.

As I told you, this is a small space, but each work is displayed in such a way that it can be appreciated in all its splendor.

Half of the gallery has works of various themes, but there is another one that pays homage to the great Venezuelan artist Armando Reverón.

As soon as I crossed the door of the gallery, the gaze of this mysterious painting caught me. It is a work with a lot of darkness and, at the same time, exquisite details on the woman's neck. The play of light is incredible.

Name of the work: Deum ac lanuam Imbeat aperiri
Technique: Oil on canvas

However, next to this dark work, there was another one with many colors, with impeccably concentric triangles with a play of shades and colors complementary to each other. Geometrically sublime.

Name of the work: Otra Luz
Technique: Mixed

This work reminded me a bit of van Gogh's "Starry Night", maybe because of the bluish tones and the swirl that form each stroke. Perhaps the artist was inspired by that work.

Name of the work: No todo lo que brilla es oro, a veces son cosas en el mar
Technique: Acrylic on canvas

This work also caught my attention. The horizontal lines and the colors used reminded me of the great Venezuelan filmmaker Carlos Cruz Diez. It has a kind of circles that look like several eyes looking at you, at least that is my perception. The beautiful thing about art is that everyone has their interpretation of what the work conveys.

Name of the work: Opuesto
Technique: Acrylic over M.D.F.

I confess that I love works that have three dimensions. They give the sensation that the objects want to escape from the flat surface that contains them. For me, they are magical. This work not only has three dimensions that make it fascinating, but the play of dark light is also magnificent.

Name of the work: Decostrucción 22
Technique: Samblast glass, thermoformed, graphics and wood.

This is a work that you have to look at from different angles because at first glance, it looks like a game of shades of brown. But if you look closely there are several people in the central part. The work is called "Character on the sofa" However, I see more than one person, hahaha...what do you think?

Name of the work: Personaje en el sofá
Technique: Mixed

This is my favorite work. The work is called "Siempre Juanita" and who was Juanita? Juanita was the wife and muse of the great Venezuelan artist Armando Reverón. Reverón was a prolific artist with works in painting and objects. One of his works was the series "Dolls", so when I enjoyed this work, I understood that the artist (Aline Carradine) tried to capture the spirit of Reverón not only with her dolls.

Name of the work: Siempre Juanita
Technique: Assemblage

If you look closely the work, you can see that the brushes are also made from tree branches, alluding to Reverón's ability to take elements from nature and turn them into works of art. This work seemed to me to be a stroke of genius and a beautiful way to honor one of our most important artists.

As I walked down each aisle, my eyes were feasting, and the background music was caressing my ears. However, my palate was missing a little more coffee, so as soon as I finished my tour of this little community gallery, I went for another delicious cappuccino. If you are a coffee lover, you will surely understand 😋

I hope you enjoyed this tour. A good cup of coffee in a place that highlights art is wonderful experience.
