Redcamp Closed-Cell Foam Sleeping Pad Review
In today's video, Mark from Camping Forge is going to review the Red Camp closed-cell sleeping pad that he took with him on his 26-mile Big Bend backpacking adventure. He is comparing it with his Big Agnes inflatable sleeping pad, which he will be reviewing next. Mark points out that the Red Camp pad is indestructible, and since it does not require inflating, there is nothing to deflate. It packs up in a z-shaped form, making it easy to carry. It is relatively lightweight, weighing less than a pound, but he notes that when carrying eight liters of water through Big Bend, his judgment of weight may have been off.
One downside of the Red Camp pad is that it is designed for back sleepers and not optimal for side sleepers like Mark. However, he found a hack to make it comfortable by placing his puffy coat on his hip and sleeping on top of it, which increased his comfort level. Though he wasn't as comfortable as he was on his Big Agnes inflatable pad, he was able to sleep relatively comfortably on the Red Camp pad.
Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for Mark's review of the Big Agnes sleeping pad in his next video.
