Hello #freewriters, I trust you are fine. I welcome you to my block

Contemporary
I was coming back from work on that fateful day and met my friend Nneoma, soliloquising, unknowing to her that I was behind her; she was annoyed about that day’s choir practice and was ranting

Mtchew, what contemporary? I don’t understand the choirmaster anymore. How can he be teaching us contemporary songs when he doesn’t understand the meaning? He is mixing things up. I am tired of going to practices and will think of stopping if he does not change.

The last time I checked the dictionary, I learnt that contemporary songs mean modern songs, like all these happening songs, but he keeps taking us to hymnals and songs and solos.

I have had enough of this mix-up, and I must meet him one-on-one next Thursday. If he remains adamant about correcting his mistakes, I will dust my feet, and unconsciously, she stopped and dusted her feet.
At that juncture, I tapped her from behind, and she jumped up out of fear. I laughed out loud and told her I had followed her for some minutes and downloaded all her rants.

Nneoma smiled, and we stopped to finish the rant together. However, after that rant, I put a call through to the choirmaster, and we explained to him the impact of his ignorance on the choir. He apologised and promised to clear up the mix-up.

By next Thursday, Nneoma came back to report that the issue has been resolved. The choirmaster now knows the difference between contemporary songs and hymnals.
