Curiousity could be the key to unravel the truth

Curiosity in people can be termed as a mind that wants to know the truth or learn more about something that is not clear to them.

As humans, there are many things we are curious about, it could be how to know if someone truly loves us or they are pretending, it could be to learn new skills, it could be to know places we have never been to, the list to our curiosity is endless..

The story I am about to share is a life experience and my curiosity was what helped me to unravel the truth without having to wait for an answer from anyone.

It happened 7 years ago.

I was in a relationship with a girl, the beginning of our love story was beautiful, the feeling was mutual and we both love the presence of each other.

It is true that love alone can't make a relationship work, the first 3 months of the relationship were beautiful, the calls, text messages, late night calls[ there was mtn free night calls in those days] Etisalat was also still doing their get 1 SMS free if you text 1.

Everyone can tell we were in love but as we all know, a good thing is not for just one person, the girl chose me but there are people who have been in her life before my arrival who were not happy with our relationship.

One day, one of her friends called me, he said my girlfriend is not who I think she is and she is hiding a lot of things from me, he mentioned how she has dated many people in the past but unfortunately for him, she has told me about all those things but I didn't let him know... My girlfriend was looking at us when the discussion was going on and she could tell the discussion was about her.

She asked me later and I told her it was about her but she doesn't need to know the details, she end the discussion with I should not mind him that he is only protecting his interest, meaning the guy was interested in her, it is a fact I already know though but I didn't think much about all this.

I was not curious about anything until 2 months after, my girlfriend started misbehaving and she won't tell me the reason, I was wondering what was going on, I called and ask her what happen and even try to get the truth from her with the promise that if she is no longer interested in the relationship she should let me know so we can break up but she said nothing was wrong but her action was opposite of that.

I was not happy with how things turned out but i am not the type that begs for love, I had to bear the pains in silence, I was hurting but I act like I was okay.

Few weeks later, I went out to collect my national id but at the location, people were many and I was bored to some extent that I didn't know what to do.

Then I remember during the time when the love was still hot and burning, she logged her Facebook account on my phone, prior to that time I have never checked her account because I am not the type that pokes nose but due to the situation and my curiosity to find out why she suddenly changed, I logged into her account.

What I saw was her conversation with the guy that badmouthed her to me the other day, with what I read, they were already having intimacy and they even discuss me to which my girl will shut him up and at times they will both laugh about my matter.

I was so heartbroken that I angrily messaged her, she denied it till the end and ask what made me say that, she didn't confess until I let her know I saw her Facebook message with the guy, she could not say anything again and that was the end of our discussion and later I realized she changed her password on Facebook.

People who know us tried to resolve the issue and somehow we decided to give love a chance again but the trust was already broken, it can never be like before again...

We chat for two days and we stopped communicating again and that was the end of our love story.

If not for my curiosity, I would be left in the dark as to why she changed not knowing she is cheating on me with someone else.
