The markets have been kind of crazy lately. I'm really not sure what to make of it to be honest. There has been a ton of exciting and ground breaking things coming out of the crypto space lately, but just about everything seems to be a sell the news type of event. I just can't seem to get a handle on what might be happening. I've heard we still have a ways to go yet until alt season is in full swing, so I just plan on holding on until what I hope is somewhere in the vicinity of the top and maybe take some gains there.

I was recently prescribed glasses for the first time in my life. As I approach 50, I think that is quite the accomplishment. I grew up with my whole family wearing glasses because their eyes are so bad. The fact that I might have been adopted has definitely been batted around a few times. Honestly, I'm not sure I see a huge difference so far with the glasses. The optometrist told me these things were going to change my world, but so far things still seem a little blurry.
Kind of like crypto huh?

It's definitely going to take me a while to get used to them. Do I look smarter at all? More distinguished?
Do these glasses make my face look fatter?
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, @mrsbozz and I finally set an appointment to see a lawyer about estate planning at the end of this month. They sent me a six page document that needs to be filled out before we head to the office. I have to admit, it's pretty humbling to see your net worth laid out before you like that.
It's also pretty eye opening about how ill-prepared many of us are. There is a section we have to fill out about life insurance and though I know we have at least one policy somewhere, I don't know much about it or how much it even covers. We might also have some other policies here and there, but I honestly don't know.
I need to fix that!
Along with our traditional estate planning, I have been thinking for a while now that I need to have a more specific record of my crypto holdings. With tokens spread across chains and across wallets, it could be a nightmare for someone to unravel it all if something were to happen to me. The good news is, I have technical people in my life whom I trust to walk @mrsbozz through it if something unfortunate were to happen. As I said though, those people need to know where to look.
I also need to fix that!

Travala
Travala dropped a massive bomb on us the other day with the announcement that Trivago listings are now going to be available on their platform. This is pretty huge though I think it's more beneficial for existing users of Travala. I don't necessarily see it driving more folks to the platform, it just gives the folks who already use the platform more options.
The token has been a bit hit or miss lately, but I really think this is a project that I should have aped into a bit more. The fact that I didn't get the Tiger NFT is a big regret of mine.
I did happen to get their AVA airdrop on the Solana network a short time ago. It looks like I got about 60 tokens for my current position on Travala. I hope that one day I can move some gains into the platform and start taking advantage of the full benefits of my Platinum membership.

By the end of next week I should be sitting at three quarters of a million ZING staked on the platform. That's kind of a big deal for me. Especially given the fact that I haven't bought a single token of that ZING. It has all been earned through delegation, staking, or the pool. Obviously, my ultimate goal is 1 million tokens staked, but I am not sure how that is going to be impacted once the game launches. I have a feeling I might end up burning through my staked ZING pretty quickly depending on how it is used in the game.
My luck something I spent a year or more building will be gone in days...
Splinterlands Advice
I'm still kicking around Splinterlands though we are still waiting for the next iteration of lands to be released. I've discovered over the past five years or so that my real joy in the Splinterlands game comes from Guild Brawls. I take part in them pretty much every chance I can.

I made the realization a while ago that my guild was really weak in terms of gold foil decks, so I made a concerted effort to pick up more cards in that area and consolidate the GF cards I did hold so I could fill that gap with my guild. These days, the gaps seem to come more in the Rebellion area, but I still think my original intent is sound.
There is a good chance if you are in a guild there are a ton of players that have the same cards. Those common frays can probably be filled by pretty much anyone. Instead, try to find frays that often go unfilled or have someone put in as a "placeholder". Once you have narrowed a fray or two down, start working on building up a deck that fits that frays restrictions, then play that deck and try to learn the ins and outs of it.
I still have a lot to learn about my deck, but I can usually accomplish an 80% win rate in most Brawls in the Silver GF fray I always join. Sure, some of those wins are because people couldn't fill the fray spot or users didn't submit a team, but 80% is still above average.
That's all I've got for this week. I hope you have an awesome weekend! Try to stay healthy! There is some nasty crap going around lately!
