Hello dear Hive Community, I hope this post finds you well!

I have been living in Morocco for many years and nowadays I appreciate this amazing part of the world more than ever. Since joining the Hive Community, the desire has grabbed me to show some of the wonderful places around me.

Today I want to show you the Hassan Tower in Rabat, the great minaret of the unfinished mosque dating back to the reign of Caliph Yaqoub al-Mansur during the late 12th Century. Construction of the mosque came to a halt following the sudden death of the Caliph in 1199, only to be abandoned entirely by his successors. If it had been completed as planned, it would have become the largest mosque in the Muslim world.

The minaret has a height of 44 meters, surrounded by 348 columns. The tower, along with the remains of the mosque and the modern Mausoleum of King Mohammed V, forms an important historical and tourist complex in Rabat.
