A piece made with mixed feelings

Hello beautiful needlework lovers on Hive. I'm Blessing from Nigeria, it's my first time posting here on NeedleWorkMonday community and I'll love to you all to ride with me as I begin my crotchet journey.
I was reflecting on my life and it dawned on me that I don't actually have any handcraft skill, so I decided to get one, and as a lover of fashion, I thought of crocheting. I met with a crotchet artist friend if she can teach me but it didn't work out because she's a student (we are both students), so combining her crocheting work with studies is already a handful for her, no time to teach me. What I had to lean back on was YouTube. I went to the market with Vera (my crotchet artist friend) to get the basic tools needed. We got a 3.0cm hook and yarns, set to start my first crotchet work -a ruffle hat.
I downloaded YouTube videos on how to crochet a ruffle hat. As a novice in crocheting, it was difficult and frustrating at first. I was literally struggling to make the first double crochet row, I'll try, fail, throw the hook and yarn away, frown, sigh, rest a bit, then pick them up and try again, funny right?
When I watch the YouTube video it will seem simple but when I pick up my hook and yarn to make it, it becomes the exact opposite. After about 2hrs-that-like-felt-like-a-month of try and fail, I finally made a NEAT double crochet row. From there, it was mixed feelings of "why is it so hard to to pull through" and '"yeay, I'm getting it"
I made my stitches, increase and decrease rows, double and triple crotchet with 90% excitement and 10% slight anger. It took me 3 days to complete it.
And today, I rocked it to school.
It's not perfect, but I applaud myself because I really tried, I'm so excited to share this with you all, smiling all through while typing this post. This is my first crotchet piece, more are loading...
Bye for now lovelies.
