Do you know that in the ancient times in Africa people thought that person's with sickle cell are actually witches.

Parents could even go as far as dumping their children in the sea, rivers to just get rid of them.

Thank God for development and more sensitisation Africans are brought to the limelight about Sickle cell. So what really is Sickle cell anaemia?

Sickle cell anemia is a severe form of the inherited blood disorder, sickle cell disease.

It’s caused by genetic changes (mutations) that lead to abnormal red blood cells and anemia. Symptoms are fatigue, infections and painful tissue damage.

Thanks to early detection and new treatments, about half of people who have sickle cell anemia live into their 50s.

Sickle cell anemia affects your red blood cells, making abnormal cells that can’t flow through your blood vessels.

If you have loved ones who are stickler show them more love and affection cause they are Real life heroes.

They are fighting a great fight to stay alive.
