Hello there, Hivers!

I have not watched @octocel do many things with her nails. I usually just see her have the same length and also no color. One of the things she started to learn by herself in December was all about nails. Her idea is to learn how make art on nails. She has done something similar before with bottle caps. However, since there were numerous types of nail lacquer and colors, she got down that rabbit hole to understand more about.

She bought a UV lamp. It really small and looks like a flashlight. It is also rechargeable. Her idea was making her art using UV lacquer. This tends to be the strongest type of nail paint. It is just like the others, but it needs the special lamp to dry and when it does it hardens. This type of paint also requires a different kind of remover.

The process to remove this UV lacquer needs some minutes of a surface exposed to it and then it can be removed. The idea is learning how to work the combinations of color and clear coats to create effects. There are also powders that gave help create some metallic effects.

It is a complete world on itself. I was there watching her doing this thing on her nails during one day and could not avoid taking some photos to capture the first steps on making nail art. I pretty sure she will get to do some really amazing things. But for that she will need practice and also some kind of brushes. Hopefully, I will be able to see this in action some time in the future.
