Para llegar a Caripe puedes ir en auto o bus, tomas la carretera nacional Maturín - Caripe, desde el terminal interurbano de Maturín, que es la capital del estado Monagas, los buses salen muy temprano, lo cual te permite recorrer el parque y algunos lugares de la ciudad, con un itinerario bien organizado y regresar el mismo día a Maturín, el viaje toma aproximadamente tres horas y puedes disfrutar de un hermoso paisaje conformado por valles y montañas, en el trayecto se pasa por la población de Aragua de Maturín, Guanaguana, San Antonio, luego el crucero hacia Cumanacoa - Caripe, en este punto sigues hacia la derecha y ya estás en la carretera que te conduce hasta Caripe, desde que entras al municipio puedes sentir su agradable clima y el aroma de las bellas rosas y flores que embellecen la población.

El viaje en esta ocasión, lo realizamos con un grupo de la iglesia y debo decir que fue una gran aventura, los jóvenes y adultos disfrutaron de este gran viaje al máximo, es la cuarta vez que visito Caripe y fue muy agradable volver de nuevo a la cueva y admirar los paisajes de esta hermosa ciudad, pero algo que llamó mi atención, fue que para la época del año, la temperatura está un poco alta, el clima no fue tan benigno con nosotros, pero igualmente disfrutamos el viaje, al llegar a la entrada de la cueva, me detuve, tomé varias fotos, caminé y observé el entorno, aunque hay algunos cambios en el lugar, tal vez el color de la vegetación, o la incidencia del sol, hace que se vea diferente; fue súper emocionante ver de nuevo esta hermosa gruta, mientras los chicos aprovechaban para tomarse fotos en la entrada, caminar y conversar, me senté cerca del museo a contemplar el paisaje y recordar uno de los viajes que hice con mi querida madre a esta cueva, cuando viajé con mi madre nos pasó un pequeño incidente, las dos nos caímos pero no fue nada grave y continuamos con nuestro recorrido je, je.

En la entrada de la cueva se lee un cartel de bienvenida con el nombre de la cueva y las normas que se deben seguir al realizar el recorrido, algo muy importante es usar botas plásticas, ya que en el interior corren varios ríos y tiende a ser muy resbaloso, en este punto fue donde mi madre y yo nos caímos, luego los guías te dan las instrucciones de cómo se realiza el recorrido, lo ideal es ir en grupo, tomados de la mano o cerca uno de otro, está limitado el uso de celulares y está prohibido tocar las formaciones de la cueva, a menos que el guía lo indique, mientras el guía daba las instrucciones y explicaba como sería el recorrido, mi corazón no cabía de la emoción, no podía creer que nuevamente estaba en este lugar que tanto me gusta y al cual tenía muchos años sin venir.

The name of the cave “El Guácharo” is due to a bird of the same name, which inhabits this place, one of the indications of the guides is that you have to be careful with these birds, because they are nocturnal and having the presence of light in the cave, they can crash against the walls and fall to the ground, so the use of cell phones or luminous devices are limited when making the tour; It was a great adventure as I already mentioned and a nice experience to visit again El Guácharo cave, just by seeing the entrance of the cave and its beautiful landscapes I felt very happy and fortunate to return once again to this charming place, Caripe is my favorite city of those I have visited in Venezuela and I love its mountain landscapes, the weather and the spectacular view when the mountain is covered with mist.
Antes de entrar a la cueva hice un pequeño recorrido, caminé varios minutos por el museo, observé que algunos carteles y vayas del museo están un poco deterioradas y sucias, el edificio del museo tiene un diseño particular y es de color verde, en esta ocasión no pudimos entrar porque estaban realizando labores de limpieza, este museo recibe el nombre de Alejandro de Humboldt y en él se encuentran varias rocas y muestras de los hallazgos que hizo este explorador en su recorrido por la cueva el Guácharo, también libros e información de su vida, fotos de la cueva, entre otros.
El nombre de la cueva "El Guácharo, se debe a un ave de nombre homónimo, que habita en este lugar, una de las indicaciones de los guías es que hay que tener cuidado con estas aves, porque son de vida nocturna y al tener la presencia de luz en la cueva, pueden chocar contra las paredes y caer al suelo, por ello el uso de celulares o dispositivos luminosos están limitados al hacer el recorrido; fue una gran aventura como ya lo mencioné y una linda experiencia visitar nuevamente la cueva El Guácharo, solo con ver la entrada de la cueva y sus bellos paisajes me sentí muy feliz y afortunada de volver una vez más a este encantador lugar, Caripe es mi ciudad favorita de las que he visitado en Venezuela y me encantan sus paisajesde montaña, el clima y la espectacular vista cuando la montaña está cubierta con neblina.
