For some real coffee.

Another Saturday, and another week has passed. Food is finished, roasted veggies with my Bratensauce - this time with onions. Easy and quick cooking. Just what I need.

Lily is with me today, since yesterday. It's great to have her after a long week, hug her, snuggle, play, and take her to a treat to a beautiful café in town. She's been with her mom most of the time, and it seems like there's another discussion about shared time and child support money on the horizon. Not looking forward to it. The last was quite horrible.

But not today. Today is waking up with Ellie at my side, when Lily opened the door and jumped into bed with us. That was a great feeling, hugging the both of them. Afterwards, using my new coffee mill - a gift from my brother - to get the best flavor out of the personal blend and roast that a friend from the Intag valley does just for me. He has like 10 different varieties, but not enough of each to make single variety coffee. Hence the blend. Which is awesome. He gets the medium roast just for me, he himself likes it a little darker.

Saturday is also pancake day. So, there I was using my cheap coffee machine, given to me by my health insurance for being super healthy and doing a lot of sport, with some of the best coffee around, ground in a "Comandante" coffee grinder. But even with the cheap machine, it makes great coffee. Just being able to adjust the coarseness of the grinder is a beautiful thing.

I'm slowly getting to the right grind for the drip machine. And already thinking about offering something like that at the bakery. People can order a specialty coffee, ground to perfection. Not super special, but enough to be distinguished from the rest that is offered around here.

Oh my, what a great coffee! Making a wonderful morning even more wonderful. When it was ready, I carefully brought Ellie a cup, too, and there they were, snuggled up, Ellie reading to Lily. Such a beautiful feeling. There is something going on, it seems like the relationship is yet again evolving. Ellie's daughter came by yesterday evening and today, too. She's almost 15 now, and the bond between us is growing, too.

Yes, 6 years is a long time. But honestly, I'm glad that we're taking our time. Our relationship is the stronger for it. And there are many, oh so many complications to consider in our lives, with the family constellation that we're trying to manage. Rushing into it would've led to a quick destruction, I'm quite sure of that.

I listened to the first two albums of Nouvelle Vague around a thousand times. I didn't really dig the following albums too much, but to make a morning coffee even better? Bande A Part!

It was a slow day. We went for coffee & brownies, played, read a few pages in Lily's book. I took a nap - the jam session yesterday was awesome, but also a little longer, and we did not fall asleep immediately, either.

We're watching "Tangled" now. Lily and I. Okay, I'm mostly listening. We watched it many times. But I think I'll snuggle up now and watch it again. Memories are more valuable than anything.
