A lot of coffee.

Home, sweet Home! Tuesday we finally made it back. 5 awesome weeks with the family in the perfect Winter came to an end, and here we are again in Cotacachi. Jetlag was okay, it took Lily a few days adjust, but luckily she wakes up very early, so school wasn't a problem. I made it until 3.30am, then laid awake for 1h, and then slept until 6am. Coffee and go, go, go!

I immediately got to work on Wednesday, running around like crazy. While I barely got to 3k steps in Germany, the first day back in EC it was 15k. Wild. So much to do! Many things had been on stand by, obviously, and there is just no way the business runs the same way when I'm not there. And on top, my administrator had ankle surgery, so he wasn't present either but managing from afar.
Thursday was market day, I put on my nice new shirt that I got in exchange for my modelling gig and went to great everyone. That was nice. So many hugs! So many smiles! My standard answer to how the vacation was: "One of those experiences that will never repeat themselves in that quality. Once in a lifetime. Just perfect."
After the market, I worked a little more until Ellie came home a little early from work, to have a "coffee" and then we both worked on our laptops. I like it when she's here to work (and more). I'm more focused on my work, and every time one of us gets up, we go over to the other's work station and snuggle a little. Feels wonderful. One of the things that make me want to live together. One day...
Friday was equally productive. My gym has a new system installed - face recognition, or finger print recognition. So easy! So great! So awesome! Don't you love tech?!? I had talked to the owner beforehand, as he was very excited about that being installed. I tried to explain him why I would not like my bio-metrical data to be stored in a gym. And no, he's not a techy who can explain to the detail why is firewall is bullet proof. So, I got a QR code. He's still super excited about it, and showed me all the perks and how to use the QR code and all that. I must admit, it's kind of sweet.
Ellie wore sweatpants and a sport bra to the gym. I don't know why, but sweat pants are incredibly hot on her. She has a great body, and I think it's because the sweat pants do not show every curve to the detail, but only insinuate the hotness below. And yes, 5 weeks abroad made me very susceptible for that.
Yesterday's jamsession was awesome because I didn't have to do anything. Just 2 weeks before I left for Germany, a new guy came in and we talked a little. He immediately said he'd push the jam forward while I was gone, and he really did. It was kind of a "Barsinger" group, something that I was told about in Germany. Guys who can't really sing meet once a week to drink beer and sing. It's all about the fun, and I love it. That idea has so much potential! No karaoke solo stuff, but concert style, everyone shouting, nobody hitting the tone, but everyone happy.
Today was waking up, making coffee, preparing Fava bean Chermoula with fried potatoes for Ellie, have a great time and then work a lot. It's going really good. I'm very happy to be back home. The vacation gave me many new ideas, and I'm eager to get to it.
In that spirit - I hope you're having a productive weekend!
P.S.: Perfect Strangers and The Battle rages on are two of the albums my father had. I listened to them many times and can't believe how underappreciated so many of those songs are. But I do dislike "Smoke on the Water" a lot, too, so... Deep Purple was so much more!
