Run, please, run.

Run, please run, the wind whispered to me,
It soft breath brushes against my neck,
Leaving me breathless for a moment,
My knees became bent, seeking the need to rest,
But I knew I couldn't cos time was a luxury I didn't have,
And with that, I moved before the sun rose.
Run, please run, the wind whispered to me,
In the shadow of the night, I felt numerous eyes on me,
They are coming! My thoughts screamed at me,
With a shaky breath, I moved my feet through the endless trees,
Each step I took left me with bruises and endless cuts,
The ground became slippery, and so were my thoughts,
Still, I moved on knowing I was hurt.
Run, please run, the wind whispered to me,
I felt the presence of the moon around me,
Like an angel, it light my way through the forest trail,
Left and right, I moved my feet despite knowing I was in an endless race,
Still with lost hope, I ran with insane courage and strength with tingling sensation,
My heart leapt. For joy? I couldn't tell.
Run, please run, the wind whispered to me,
Its voice woke something deep in me,
Something lost, wild and fun. A gift, perhaps? I couldn't say,
But I could feel the rhythmic energy in my guts,
My face shone brightly like I was the sun,
My skin lightens up like I visited North Carolina for a tan,
My breath was fresh like morning dew mixed with nature's juice,
I felt alive, seen, strong, and ready to explore.
Run, please, run, the wind whispered to me,
This time around, I stopped to listen,
Taking a deep breath, I felt calmness around me,
”It's alright,” I whispered back to wind,
It's okay to rest for a moment after a long race,
It's okay to pause and enjoy the view before you,
Moment gone can't be reversed, so blow softly
And so the wind heard my whispers,
And for a moment, we paused, and the next, we ran.
Still yours truly,
Balikis.
Thanks for reading.
Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.
