This is an unexpected post. Today I was having a good conversation with some fellow Hive members in our Indian community. The topic was all about Gerber. I then thought it would be great to comprehend a nice article describing top 10 facts that I know about Gerber. It is so funny that I'm really sitting and writing this article. Maybe the amount of discussion we had today about him influenced me and made me write this article.
Ya why not, let's showcase Gerber today to the whole world. At least the facts that I know about him. He has been a very good friend of mine on Hive for the past 1 year.
Who is Gerber?
I guess this question would be ideal to start with. Honestly a year before, I had no idea who Gerber was. I first saw him on the Neoxian server doing Giveaways generously. He was not a chatty type but he was around when there were productive discussions happening on the server. Even then I did not know much about him.
When Steem-Engine launched and when tribes were emerging slowly, that is when I started hearing a lot about Gerber. Whichever discord I go, I would see him already there with some special role on him. After a few days I would also hear that he was the one who ran scripts to do airdrops for the tribe tokens. He was also tagged as one of the mods on Steem-Engine discord server.
To keep it short, @gerber is the master mind behind the famous game dCity on Hive. The game was launched on discord for a closed group of people just as an experiment on NFTs but later grew to become one of the top games played now. All credit goes to Gerber and his team. Now let's jump to 10 quick facts about Gerber.
1. Gerber is Helpful
This is the first comment that everyone would give about Gerber. He is definitely very helpful and he would never hesitate to answer any question we ask him. I have been in his DM several times to ask some questions about Hive Engine and the tokens, he always gives elaborate answers. I know that he also helped many tribes airdrop their tokens. I guess @riverflows and @khaleelkazi would agree with me. When peopel started their own tribes and tokens, Gerber's script helped them airdrop the tokens.
2. Gerber is a Math guy
He is the mastermind behind the game dCity which is based on many mathematical calculations. He is very good in Mathematics and also like maths so much. That's why calculations were a piece of cake for him and he was able to create dCity game. With dCity game, he not only used his maths skills but he also made his investors do some maths to calculate their profit and loss.
3. Gerber is a Witness
Most of the people may not know this but he also runs a witness server. I have not seen him asking people for witness votes but I personally think that he definitely deserves witness vote and deserves to be on top 20. He also helped others setup their witness servers.
If you have not voted him as a witness and if you do have a free slot, do vote him as a witness. I personally feel that he deserves to be on top 20.
4. Gerber is a Leo Curator
Gerber is one of the top Leo stake holders and he is also a curator on Leofinance community. I'm not sure if he is still curating but if we go to Leofinance discord he can be see as one among the other curators over there. I have seen him around on LeoFinance discord server most of the time. Especially on the support channel. If someone is looking for help, he would always be there answering questions about LeoFinance community. The same on Engine server as well. If anyone is asking questions about Steem Engine or Hive Engine he would immediately summon himself to answer the questions.
5. Gerber is one of the top token holders
He not only helped establish many tribes but he also became one of the top investors by investing huge on some of the tokens. I have seen him grabbing a big load of NEOXAG tokens when the price of the token was very less in the market. He is a mega investor and he knows when to enter and when to exit. Good trading guy.
6. Gerber is a big investor
Oops I think I covered most of it in the previous paragraph itself. Ya to add further he is also one of the top investors on Hive. If I'm not wrong he started here on Hive with Zero investment and all that he has earned here is all because of his efforts and hard work.
7. Gerber is the top curator
Gerber has his own personal bot that curates posts at the right time. I have seen his curation bot touching my posts during the early days. Then later I saw that he was curating regularly for the Leofinance community. But recently after starting dCity game, he has been curating posts from other communities as well even though he gives top priority to the posts that are about dCity game.
8. Gerber codes in Python
Did you know that he started coding only recently? With his mathematical skills, he was able to grasp coding concepts so easily. He did code many bots and small projects that helped him familiarize many concepts and learn faster. Gerber once told me that @holger80 is half human and half python. But I definitely see that Gerber will also soon become half human and half python.
9. Gerber has almost 100 secret accounts
Legends say that he has more than 100 secret accounts on Hive using them for many undercover activities. Wait. Did you guys believed it? I actually made it up. But who knows this can even be true. Apart from dCity he has coded so many things that include beeswap, tradingbot on Hive engine, curation bot etc. I know for the fact that Gerber is also one of the top investors on Splinterlands game.
10. Gerber never sleeps and spends most of the time on discord
If you have reached this far, just ignore the last two points. I really didn't know what to write after writing 8 facts about him and also I guess I have cross over 1000 words already in this article. But it is true that he sleeps very less and works really hard. He keeps coding most of the time. I hardly see him offline and even if he appears offline, if we just send him a message he will start appearing online again.
