MODIFIER MASTERY: FOG OF WAR

Hello Splintermates and Hiveans,

Hope you are doing great . This weeks "Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Modifier Mastery!" i am going to share fog of war where i going to show a battle to take advantage of positioning with my available monster in the battlefield.

THE BATTLE

This battle is a 44 mana battle with a fog of war battle ruleset / modifier against a very trong opponent. My opponent uses reklah as his archon taking advantage of minus 2 ranged to my monster but unfortunately only one ranged monster did i employ that his tactics been nullified. I then uses cryptic as my archon that is to take advantage of its poison added tactic ability which added to gramel the hunger and thornmaw berserker and supported by arachne weaver for its corrupted healing.

WHAT ARE THE GO TO TEAM WHEN FOG OF WAR MODIFIER RULESET APPEARS:

We know that the first thing come to your mind is to used magic or ranged attack monster and not to use melee monster at 3rd to last position as you will be going to giveaway some rounds too your opponent . The good thing is that new melee monster now has a charge ability which allow them to attack from any position unlike those chaos time where most melee monster got either sneak attack or opportunity attack ability which is the common mistake or beginners mistake in understanding this ruleset (where i newbie like me will wonder why his monster is not attacking - knowing later it is due to fog of war ruleset)

STRATEGY #1 : USE MULTIPLE ATTACK MONSTER

Choosing to use this monster allows you to attack at any position with neither magic or ranged that is also to give you the advantage to attack when in first position when ranged monster does not have the ability to attack at first position. So my available go to team in here is gramel the hunger and

* GRAMEL THE HUGER - is a 11 mana legendary promo conclave arcana card. It has triple attack the reason it is very compatible with cryptic archon specially the poison added ability. At level 2 it has 2 ranged attack, 1 magic attack and 1 melee attack. It also has 1 armor, 7 health and 3 speed. It also has 3 abilities; charge ability (Can use melee attacks from any position), scattershot ability ( Magic and ranged attacks target a random enemy unit) and relentless strike ability (Attacks deal true damage. +1 damage if the target has Void, Shield or Forcefield).

* HODLOR - hodlor is a 6 mana epic conclave arcana card. It has dual attack the reason it is very compatible with cryptic archon specially the poison added ability. At maxed level it has 2 magic attack and 3 melee attack. It also has 5 health and 4 speed. It also has 3 abilities; reach ability (can use melee attacks from the second position), dispel ability (removes magic buffs after a successful attack) and phase ability (magic attacks have the same chance to miss as physical attacks).

STRATEGY #2 : USE MONSTER WITH ABILITIES THAT ALLOW THEM TO ATTACK AT ANY POSITION

We know that chaos and older card set does not have much melee monster that attack and any position as most of them got sneak and opportunity that does not trive in this fog of war battle ruleset. The good thing i that this new conclave arcana set including reward card has some added ability that allows them to attack at any position . My team to go in here that is available to me is gramel the hunger and thornmaw berserker.

* THORNMAW BERSEKER - is a 7 mana common death conclave arcana reward card. It has triple has 3 melee attack, 4 armnor, 9 health and 4 speed. Since this is a black foil they are always at maxed level. At maxed level it has 4 abilities; final rest ability (allied and enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate), magic reflect ability, life leech ability and charge ability. This monster can attack at any position due to its charge ability it one of the reason i like to play it with cryptic specially with the added poison ability that works with all melee battle ruleset.

Aside from this multiple attack strategy that come to my mind when this fog of war modifier come is some of the added abilities that make the game or play synergies like using Cryptic as archon allows some monster to have added poison ability and using monster with poison and scattershot ability that is to allow you attack opponent from random position and unleash poison into them.

SUMMARY

When it comes to fog of war the number that comes to my mind is cryptic due to its added tactic ability specially the poison. Then number two is to used multiple attack monster specially with those scattershot and charge ability then make them inherit the poison ability if they don't have. That makes the synergy very good and support them with monster tht has a corrupted healing that make the monster sustain their health longer.
