Yesterday, our little boy Boris, who has been wearing a cast for one week after his bone surgery, was so joyful to play in the swimming pool. He has already faced two surgeries, and he still needs to keep the cast on for six months. Even with all this, our brave boy keeps smiling and loves the water. Swimming is not only fun for him, but it also helps his legs move and get exercise. We all joined him in the pool as a family. Even our little girl, Doris, the youngest, only 3 years old, can already swim without a float. We all stayed in the pool until it got dark, just to see Boris happy.
My husband and I feel very proud of him. He is so young, but he has already been through pain. Even so, he faces it with great courage. I still can’t stop my tears when I see him coming out of the operating room. The thought that he must stay in a cast for months is a very heavy feeling for me. The doctors told us he will need another big operation. They may have to take bone from another part of his body to fix his hip, because the bone is already in the socket but still moves backward. At his next check-up, we will know more about what the doctors will advise. They already said he needs an MRI first. This makes me very worried, but we continue to hope and pray. We wish the treatment could be done with only therapy or leg braces instead of another major surgery.
