How thoughtful! My dad was here and I didn't even notice.

Hello, friends of Cinnamon Cup Coffee. This new TCSP has brought me here with an incredible story, yes, but unfortunately, a very true one.
According to this new prompt, we should focus on a vivid detail from our visit to a coffee shop, and I truly had an unforgettable event in my life for this purpose.

Last year, in October 2024, my husband and I went to a café before stopping by my parents' house to meet up with the family and celebrate. This café is actually a bakery called Moisan Boulangerie Creole, and it's very beautiful. It's a place that relaxes me and gives me a lot of pleasure.
They have excellent coffee of various types and also very special tea.
That day we took several photos at the café, some selfies, and others of the place because I wanted to make a post, which I actually did some time ago.
When we got to my parents' house, they explained that my dad had left several hours ago, and they were worried because he hadn't returned yet.
I decided to go out with my husband to look for him in the car. We drove around several streets and couldn't find him, and I was getting quite nervous. Finally, I did what I should have done from the start: I asked my mom for a clue about the places he frequents so we could go check them out.
Among the places she mentioned was Moisan. She told me that he liked to go there to read because, in addition to being able to bring his own book, they have a special place for book exchanges and an excellent reading area.
I thought about ruling it out because I had been there a little while ago and obviously hadn't seen him. However, we decided to go back. He wasn't there, but I decided to ask the employees, who are very friendly.

When I described him, they remembered him immediately. They know him there and assured me that he had been there recently. I found it incredible, or maybe they weren't sure what they were saying.
Based on the time they said it had left, it must have been around the same time I was there. “But I was here at that time and I didn't see it!”
I had taken photos of the whole place, and at that moment, I feared something very embarrassing.
I was in the coffee shop, focused on the photos to make a post without really observing the place, its things, and the people who were there.

How many times has this happened to many of us? How embarrassing.
I took out my phone and checked all those photos. By now, I've deleted them all, except for these two that I'm publishing in this post.
When I looked through the photos on my phone, I could see my father in two of them, sitting at the back of the ideal place for reading, concentrating on his book.

He didn't notice me because he was reading. I sat at the other end of the place, where there was no visual connection, but when I got up to take the photos, I just looked at the phone screen without paying attention to anything else.

I also had no idea that my family was worried about my father at home. Furthermore, I thought he was with the rest of the family at home.
At that moment, I felt a great fear, a real terror, and I quickly went out to walk the path from that point to the house in the hope of finding him, even though many minutes had already passed.
Just as I reached the street that leads to the house, I found him walking in that direction. I greeted him as if nothing had happened, as if I had found him by chance, and invited him to get in the car so I could take him home.
So we arrived home together, putting everyone's minds at ease, and later told them with great sadness that we had been in the same place without knowing it. I showed them the photo where he appeared, but I really felt terrible about it.
We have returned to Moisan, a place we both like. He sometimes goes with my mother, and I sometimes return with my husband. On one occasion, we were there together, and that time we were truly together.
I thought I would never make this the details of this story publicly, although I had briefly mentioned it in a post some time ago, but this week's prompt in the Cinnamon Cup Coffee community made me feel strongly, above other possible coffee shops of which I also have photos, that the great detail they were referring to was none other than my dad reading at the back of the tables.
