So, when I say we're getting pretty close to Hive Mobile Gaming I'm not doing the Steemit thing where we say it's "soon" and it's like four years away or never gets developed.

This week our dev was able to login to our Moon Karts Android test mobile app on his phone using the Hive Keychain Mobile App that also was installed on his phone.

The Hive Keychain Mobile App is working.
The Test Moon Karts Mobile App is working.
The Login requiring both of those two apps to play nice together is working.

WHAT WHAT!!!!

This has been a major goal for a couple of years. It's been actively worked on for multiple months. This is a breakthrough moment!

See, once that Login path works, the rest of it works like normal. The login was the hard part because that's the piece that is connecting Web2 Unity to Web3 Hive.

So, we still have some bug fixing, and UI cleanup, and app approvals and other details to work through, but the hardest part of getting coordination between multiple apps and libraries working on your phone so you can login with Hive Keychain Mobile App is now done and working!

Big shoutout again to @stoodkev from Hive Keychain and @goodkarma on the Hive URI side of things! Thanks y'all! This would not have been possible without your tools and help.

I can feel it in my microplastics that we're freaking close to unlocking Hive Mobile Gaming and all manner of apps in general.

The initial setup is mildly annoying, but it's still better than most other L1 blockchains. More importantly, once the Keychain Mobile App is installed and setup the user experience after that is pretty damn good. If you're doing something that's game related and you've already delegated authority to the game then you don't have to sign anything and starting up the next game will just happen automagically. If you're doing something financial then when you click the buy/sell/trade button it'll deeplink to Hive Keychain Mobile App, you'll be presented with a transaction to sign, and after signing you'll be redirected to the browser or app from where you came.

Assuming your internet is not powered by a hampster or your phone isn't from 15 years ago it should be a smooth, quick, and easy experience.

I'm pumped!

Vision

We want developers on Hive to be able to make mobile apps that work out of the box easily. Free to play to get them hooked and Play to Earn to let them own their assets and have freedom to handle their financial affairs with those assets. Lend cards, add liquidity to pools, leverage your way to glory or riches... it should all be up to you!

We want gamers and Hivians to be able to have an easy experience using Hive and Hive apps on their phone.

The goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to develop these games as a developer or play them as a gamer with access to Hive and Hive mobile apps.

Roadmap

We're wrapping up getting our first Apps out the door. The first is the launching app. This app will have some social media functions, will host a game directory, and allow you to launch the different games we or other developers have built. We've redesigned the arcadecolony.com homepage and will be releasing it as a mobile app for this purpose. I'm hoping it's out the door or waiting for approvals by the end of August.

This is our top priority.

The second app will be Stakehouse Den. The third will be Moon Karts. (Stakehouse Den is single player right now, so it's easier to get that out the door then it is to figure out the multiplayer considerations of Moon Karts). Not exactly sure how long these will take, but I think we can get them out within the next 90 days.

So, before long you'll be able to play these games on your phone.

From there we will continue to make the user experience as good as we can and we're committed to adding several more social casino games and a Jackpot reward system into Stakehouse Den.

We have to get Prime Pick out and Hyper Rail Blaster out into the mobile app stores as well.

The plan is to have these as browser games, mobile apps, and mobile browser games. You'll have the most complete experience in a desktop browser, you'll have a great mobile gaming experience in a mobile app, and you can do financial transactions on mobile browsers. If the app stores play nice we may be able to squeeze financial transactions into the mobile app experience, but to start I think the mobile app will house the gameplay and the mobile browser will host the financial transactions. As a user you may switch from the mobile app to the browser, but if you have a good internet connection it's a minor inconvenience compared to unlocking Hive Mobile Apps on your phone.

Time to bring in others

Once these games are live and we've shown a number of different examples of how you can build a game in Unity, connect it to Hive, and then operate it as an app on your phone we're going to shift our focus from building games to recruiting games.

There's a vast array of Unity games and millions of developers making Unity games. These games already have millions of users. We don't have build each and every community up from scratch. We'll onboard existing games and drag their community into our ecosystem one game at a time with a full community rather than just one user at a time.

We just need to keep convincing them to take their web2 app and build web3 components into it via Invennium and our platform enabling Hive Mobile Gaming. This gets easier over time as each new game that comes to the platform expands the number of users making it more attractive for the next game to come.

All these users and developers are going to want Hive to play more, create accounts, and give rewards for sharing content. They'll also want Arcade Colony tokens ($SCRIPT, $COLONY) and GLS tokens ($GLUSD, $GLX) for staking and rewards.

If you think mobile blockchain games can attract users then govern yourself accordingly.

Almost there bois!

Lastly, we finally seem to have some altcoin wind in our sails. It's too early to shout we're in altseason, but some of my favorite gurus are noting that rotation from BTC to ETH is starting to happen, and that's usually one of the first signs of life in altcoins. I've waited four years for this, which in crypto has aged me four decades... but it's a breath of fresh air to see a little life coming back into the space.

And it's just in time for us as we're launching Blockchain Mobile applications. This was just a dream a few years back...
