Nespresso Showdown - Testing all the 3rd pods

Nespresso Showdown
I've been going through all the brands of Nespress-compatible coffees sold in the supermarkets lately. They all basically carry the same brands, plus their own in-house brand. I found that the in-house brands; Asda, Sainsbury's e.t.c, are basically made in the same place, but branded for the required supermarket. Heck, I'm starting to think all the Nespresso pods are created in the same factory. That's because they all use the same exact packaging. It may well be that they delegate the packaging of the coffee out to a factory somewhere to save money, as is the case with most things these days, but there really isn't much variety anymore. The exception is Starbucks, who opted for the long tube rather than the rectangular box.
In terms of taste, so far the best one is Costa. Cafe Nero was a close second and the Asda Extra Special brand is in third place. The standard Asda brand, though, tastes like what I imagine roasted cow poop would taste like :)
I'm currently going through the L'OR brand offers and they're not so bad. I find most of them to be a bit over-roasted. I think somehow Costa just got it right and may turn out victorious when the trial is done ☕️
Peace & Love,
Adé
